I filmed a video because words alone cannot explain how much these lights changed the situation. Let me be clear: harsh fluorescent lighting + a window directly behind you + being a 40-year-old woman = a crime scene. It’s just disrespectful. No one wins. Least of all your face. These lights? Adjustable brightness AND temperature. Suddenly I’m not fighting shadows, glare, or my own reflection looking like it’s under interrogation. I can dial in “warm and human” or “bright and in control” depending on the moment. Took like two minutes to set up and plug in and seems sturdy. Bottom line: I look awake, professional, and back in the game. Negotiations have resumed without people asking if I’m sick all the time. Highly recommend.

Working remotely comes with challenges, and one of the most underestimated yet crucial ones is lighting for video conferences. I recently purchased the HumanCentric Video Conference Lighting kit, and it has significantly enhanced my video calls by providing consistent and adjustable illumination. With my desk positioned near windows, the background sunlight threw off my webcam's balance, making me appear like a silhouette. With the HumanCentric lighting, this is no longer a problem. It effectively counters the bright background light, ensuring I am visible and well-lit on camera. I love the lighting this provides and the adjustable color temperature. It works well with virtual meetings. My main complaint is the length of the connecting cord. It just isn't long enough for larger monitors. It likely will work well with 24-inch monitors or smaller but not so well with 27-inch monitors. My package was missing the USB-C to USB-A adapter, which posed no real problem as my power block has several C and A outlets. It would be great to have a remote control for the light as I have for my desk light as the inline control is inconvenient behind the monitor because that is where my power block is located. Suggestion for a new light - Have a 90-degree downward lamp to light up the desk with a switch that is independent of the video light on/off and color temperature. This could replace the bulky desk lamp that I have hovering over my monitors! Overall, I'd recommend this light for 24-inch monitors or less but not for larger monitors.

I'm not sure if I'm keeping these. I was looking for a light source for Zoom meetings. I needed something with a warm setting to offset the blue tint on my face from my screen. What I like about these are the different temperature settings, the adjustable brightness, and that they fit nicely at the top of my screen. Having them off my desk is really helpful and they're easy to use: you plug them into a usb-c port and change your buttons with the remote on the cord. Where I'm having trouble loving them is the method of changing your settings. You have to physically change them on the remote embedded in the cord rather than by an app on your computer or an external remote. To keep the cables concealed, you'll have to attach them to the back of your screen and move your screen every time you want to turn them on or off, or if you need to adjust your settings. Otherwise, you have to let the cord hang below the screen to keep the remote accessible. I would love to see a version that could be adjusted by an app or remote in the future. This might just be too clunky of a setup for me.

I was really excited to start using this product. My office can be very dark as my back is positioned against the windows, giving me too much back light and not enough front facing light for affective video conferencing. This light worked very well for me. I provided enough light, diffuse light very well, and easy to operate. I thought I had a winner. Fast forward less than 90 days the light stopped working in the middle of a meeting. No matter what I do it will not come back on. It didn’t overheat, it did not blink, I had no warning. It just stopped working. If you do purchase this lamp, understand that the power cord is extremely short, you will struggle trying to position the power button in a reachable place especially if you have large monitors. So very disappointed, now I guess I’ll have to try and find an alternative. UPDATE: The seller contacted me after reading this post and provided me with a replacement model and an extension cord to test on their behalf. I must say I was not expecting that but very grateful. I’m back to looking great on video. The product works as expected. As I said, in my first statement, I was excited then to buy it and I’m excited now to on it. Is always nice when a vendor stands behind their product.

Bought the dual kit, and they sit well on my ultra-widescreen 40" Dell monitor (which is pretty chunky at the back so that's nice!), and provide a lovely even light for video calls. My only gripe is that there's no way to remotely turn these on and off (and even doing that via a wifi-controlled plug or similar is tricky as it's USB-C powered, so you have to put a USB-C adapter onto a smart plug), but hey, the little button on the dongle works well enough, and I knew that going in!

I was so excited to buy these lights to make myself look fantastic in front of the WebCam. However, I find that the lights work fine but they do not hold onto the monitor tightly and keep falling off. Super periodically when I’m on Camara I have to rearrange the lights and secure them. It’s kind of annoying. Actually very annoying. I would recommend going with another brand.

Great little light here. Using on a 13" MacBook Air(2022) and it works well. Strong lighting on all settings. Easy articulation and adjustments for chosen angle with well built fittings. Feels solid and not flimsy at all. Quality build. Rests nicely on top of laptop screen with a clever little cutout to avoid blocking your camera lens. Feels like a well thought out Chicago Designed product. Intuitive light controls make it an overall win for anyone who does video all day. I look 10 years younger(YMMV) This is a well built product and justifies the price IMHO. Pros: Thoughtful design. (Chicago!) Well built. Sleek and sexy profile looks like it was built for Mac. Multiple lighting colors(tones?) and intensities. Simple to use and install. Cons: Silly amount of cable for ANY mobile user. You need MAYBE 12"-16" from light to typical USB C port, but you will have 6 feet to deal with until the day you die. This cord problem, and much of the sales pitch/pricing model, seem to be aimed at enticing the "multi light" user, which is not me. Wishlist: 14" power cable w/inline switch option. Would 100% buy a battery powered/rechargeable "travel/mobile" version of this if it would hold charge for a few hours.
