Vitapur VWD1006BLP Bottom Load Water Dispenser

I read on other reviews of this product that said it was a bit noisy and they were true. The noise is similar to an older wall mounted air conditioner. For me it's worth not having to wait for my bf to pick up the water bottle or spilling some of it on the floor when I do it myself. It's much better looking than the top loading ones with the exposed bottle, it also has lighting in the cup area that's bright enough to not need additional lighting for a late night cup of water or tea. Update 5/2013: It is much louder now when it is even close to empty (1/3 of a bottle left) but otherwise at the same level noted above when just cooling/heating or pumping water into the dispensing part. I have to advise that when it is close to empty it's very, very loud now (& was not as bad previously). I still like it because of the ease of use, but had to downgrade it to 3 stars because the increased noise can't bode well for it's longevity (it is cleaned every other month with a vinegar and water solution-I used to rent a water disp at work and that's what they cleaned them with ev 3 months). I started cleaning it more often (1x per mo), in case build up was causing the noise, but that did not improve it. Update: 10/2015: I still own this water disp and upgraded the star rating to a 5. Due to longevity and yes it still isn't silent like the top loading dispensers I had previously. However, common sense, or a slightly more mechanically inclined wonderful man who sarcastically called it common sense when I was about to buy another one advised that any water dispenser that isn't using gravity to do most of the work is going to be louder and get louder with time. It was true and I can say it hasn't gotten any louder than it was 2yrs ago in my prior review update. I still clean it frequently and it works great and the night light part still works. Considering other options (renting, not being able to lift the bottles, etc) I consider this a 5 star water dispenser based on price and longevity.

This unit worked well for a little over two years. Then one day it stopped dispensing cold or room temperature water. When either of those buttons were pressed, the water came out like warm tap water. I only use distilled water so I know the machine is not clogged. I emailed customer service and they offered a reset suggestion that I followed without correcting the issue. In the email from customer service, they stated if that did not correct the problem to call in for more assistance. I called he number provided and the person on the other end of the line was confused about the issue and placed me on hold. After a brief hold, he came back with the same set of steps that were in the email, after I told him I had done that before he placed me on hold. When I told him it did not correct the problem, he was not sure why I called and said the only correction would be to purchase a new machine. I am disappointed in the life of the product and the lack of customer service. I read reviews like this when deciding to buy the product but did not listen. Maybe I got a bad product and others did not, just think twice before purchasing.

The first one I received was damaged in shipment and Amazon sent a replacement unit ASAP. Had this unit up & running for a while & although it's a little noisy when refilling the storage tanks, it's works & looks great; cold water, hot water, & room temp water are within temp ranges as expected. Replacing the 5gal bottle is a breeze without having to invert it as with units that have the water bottle on top. I would recommend this unit to those who don't want to deal with the burden of lifting & inverting water bottles. Very happy with this unit.

I like the choices of water temp. I did not like the noise coming from the machine. Last night, it was so loud. When I woke up this morning, the water was hot. I unplugged it. I did let it sit a few hours. I plugged it back in and it went hot again. Now I have to buy a new one. I will not buy this brand.

I bought it used, but in good condition from Amazon. Could not get it to work as the pump was broken so I had to return it. It is a heavy unit so returning it was pretty difficult. I will say, however, that the manufacturer offered to replace it with a new one, but the problem was they wouldn’t take the old one that wasn’t working off my hands so I just ended up returning it and had a UPS pick it up.

I had given this to my fiance about 3 years ago and we still have it! Love this! It works so well dispensing cold water, like legit collllllld water. It is not loud, every once in a while it does crank out some noise but it isn't constant. It is so easy to refill the water, def recommend this product!

Great machine so far. I was worried about the noise at first however after a few use the noises disappeared

It’s awesome. I love that you get hot water ONLY ashen you need it. I hope on the next version they can make it quieter.
