A gift that keeps on giving
I got this gift for my 93 year old grandma, and it's been such a blessing. She puts the herbs in her salads, food, and deserts. They grow and grow! She loves keeping them trimmed, and it's easy to feed and give it water. We had trouble where 4/6 pods didn't bloom, but no issue! They have a seed warranty system and we just used the site to specify which seeds didn't make it and they sent more. I just took this picture when I visited her yesterday.

My window sill sanctuary
Can’t believe I’ve had this plant pal for almost two months already!Overall, I’m really happy with the purchase and I’m kinda surprised that I haven’t lost interest in my new hobby. It is a small learning curve but it’s really low maintenance once you get into the swing of things. And the results? Well the proof is right there in the photo! My Thai basil sprouted up first and continues to serve all the Thai tea needs. Mint is swinging a close second. Dill isn’t very happy but I just bought a pH tester and I’m hopeful that will provide some guidance as to what’s askew. Parsley is trailing behind but refuses to give up. Thyme died RIP :( BUT in its pod I planted new life in the form of a Genovese basil shoot lobbed right off a supermarket basil plant…and she is thriving! (NOTE: I did attempt to acclimatise the basil shoot to the nutrients by rooting it in a glass of water with a mere drop of plant food). There’s also a teeny cascading petunia just starting to peep through now (UPDATE: petunia has just started to bloom and she is a beaut! See pics!)Hot tips:- Shove whatever cuttings you can find in any unused pods to propagate new plants and extend the life of supermarket herbs! Don’t be precious, life is for living!- If you reside in NYC: Don’t quote me on this but I heard there is a seed depositary at NYPL where you can get free seeds! One minor gripe is that it’s difficult to find specific troubleshooting information pertaining to your model on the Aerogarden website. At one point I had to unplug/replug my garden and I wasn’t sure if this would reset the food/light scheduled reminders. It was tricky to find an answer on their site so I emailed customer service and they were pretty responsive. Although they did give me the frustratingly vague answer of “sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t”. But who doesn’t love a spot of mystery to keep you on your toes??Anyway in conclusion, buy this and rest happy at night knowing you have a green thumb and more Thai basil than you will ever ever ever need.

Works great, very bright
Pros, plants grew FAST! Pretty color. Easy to use.Cons, soooo bright. I had to put it in my hallway and I still have to cover it with a shirt when I go to bed. In my room. Across the house. With the door closed. I almost returned it just for this. You might say to have the light on during the day but its so bright it catches my eye distractingly. It makes me think the front door is open. It even kind of hurts my eyes sometimes from reflecting in the table. (I do have kind of sensitive eyes). My lettuce tasted good but watery and very, very tender. Next time I harvest it I'll leave it in the fridge for a bit to see if it dries out more.I got 2 extra packs of seed sets plus the one it came with. I did tomatoes, Basil, parsley and 3 lettuces and they all grew incredibly fast (except the parsley which says it takes longer).... but they all sprouted and it is fun!

aerogarden is awesome
Aerogarden makes it easy to grow year round lettuce. I now have THREE of them and they do great. You do need to make sure you clean it regularly and use distilled/filtered water. I didn't have any luck with their cherry tomato pods but the herbs did well. I use the grow your own pods with my own lettuce seeds and get constant harvests.

Great winter hobby
I purchased this as a gift. The quality of food you grow is excellent and very easy. I love looking for the sprouting and watching the progress. Fresh herbs and lettuce are my favorite. Can’t get any fresher picking off a leaf fir a sandwich.

Perfect gift
This was a gift for my Mom. She set it up in mid-January and within days had sprouts. She keeps trimming back the growth and drying the extra herbs she's not using right away. She absolutely loves it and I'm planning on getting one (or two) for myself.Pros: easy to set up and use, has everything needed to startCons: (per Mom) grow light illuminates a large area at night
