I have been using the Aqara Door and Window Sensor Kit for a few months now and I have to say, I am extremely impressed with its performance. This kit includes two door/window sensors that can be placed on any door or window in your home, and it works with the Aqara app to provide real-time notifications when a door or window is opened or closed. I ordered this 3 pack of Aqara contact sensors to replace my rather old outdated Alarm contact sensors - The sensors are amazingly small and just look so much better than our previous door contact sensors. Pairing with Z2M in Home Assistant was super simple - recogised straight away - there is no delay in the contact sensor reporting to Z2M, it's instant! Super happy with these and would highly recommend them to others - pricey compared to TUYA zigbee sensor, but hey are great quality!

This door & window sensor works amazingly well with Home Assistant. I paird this up to my Pi running home assistant via a ZigBee conbee stick & it's yet to let me done. It's a really small sensor so perfect for hiding away on the side of a window or door frame. The double sticky tap on the back makes super quick the install & pairing up to your ZigBee hub is a breeze, it was found instantly on mine. It provides accurate results when opening and closing the door allowing for my automations to run flawlessly. Great value for money!

Really work well. Had other brand and it was "patchy"... this one just does what it says! Nice and small. Connected with Smartthings hub directly, but it does take some fiddling! The smartthings community has loads of tips and support... if you go down the route of getting a different driver, e.g. Yakov edge driver, make sure you download it before trying to connect... also it takes a few minutes.... Worth it, very quick response when doors opened (or closed).

I had heard good things about Aqara products, and had high hopes for these Matter-compatible sensors. I bought five of them to cover all our external doors, along with the Aqara M3 hub. Unfortunately, for me, this was a poor decision. I have a fairly extensive home automation setup based on Apple Home, and am knowledgeable about tech, but these sensors did not play ball. Once I had set up the M3 hub and installed the Aqara app I start the process of adding the sensors through the app as child devices. All five failed - they would be recognised by the app, but when adding them to the hub I repeatedly received an "other error: code 1" message. While this was far from promising, I decided that I would bind the sensors through Apple Home directly after setting up the hub as a bridge. While the sensors would bind, some after a few attempts, they failed at their primary function of detecting the opening and closing of the doors. Of course I double checked that I had fitted them according to the instructions with the required distance between sensor and contacts. Both the sensors I fitted detected the door opening and closing a couple of times, but after that the status did not change, one stuck on closed and the other open. I did not fit all five sensors after this and continued to struggle with the two I had fitted. I removed them from Apple Home, factory reset the sensors and tried again. One sensor then wouldn't bind at all, failing multiple times. The other bound first time, but once again stopped sensing the movement of the door. Ultimately I gave up struggling and decided to return all my Aqara kit. Despite other good reviews my experience means that Aqara is now a brand I don't trust to perform as intended.
