Nice mini sledge, has held up well for me!
Great hammer, gets a lot of use daily and has held up well working in industrial maintenance plant. The weight of it feels nice and the cushion grip feels nice in your hand and helps prevent it from slipping. Nice mini sledge! Great quality would recommend it if other people asked for recommendations.

Such a perfect mallet!!!
I'm a 62 year old woman and this is the first mallet I've ever bought. I got it to pound 4' metal fencing (chickenwire type fencing) into the ground to serve as stabilizing/correction stakes for my Royal Purple Smokebush, which is tilting at 45 degrees (the Smokebush is often used as a tree, like I'm doing, and the lower branches are cut off --but, it's still a bush and so not as strong as a tree, and mine just ended up really tilted). I have stainless steel outdoor cable to secure the Smokebush to the stakes and wood shims to assure the cables don't damage the Smokebush where they come in contact. All I needed to get going was a mallet!!! I haven't used it yet, but the weight is perfect and I'm so glad to have this mallet!!! There was a time when I needed a rubber mallet, but I bypassed it because I would rather have this metal one at least, and just use folded towels as a cushion to get a similar effect as a rubber mallet. This is a great, all purpose mallet to have!!! Very glad to add this to my collection of tools!!!

Great Mini-Sledge
Perfect size and weight for breaking some pavers into the correct size. It's a handy hammer for multiple uses with having to get the 8lb sledge. Easy to handle and grip. Love Estwing for value and feel.

Great for use with plug and feather for splitting granite boulders.
I use this with plug and feather for slitting granite boulders. I think it would work OK for you. The last 3 pounder you'll ever buy. How often can we say this anymore? Very durable if you know how to use it! Is very obviously totally unbalanced as every sledge is. What kind of criteria is this Amazon???

Well used tool, no regrets
I have 2, 3, and 4 pound hammers. I use this one for precision work with cold chisels. Easy to control and heavy enough to get things done. Easy to grip handle with or without gloves. Proven durable for heavy DIY level use. Well priced.

It hammers, it... hammers. It's an Estwing and I will likely never again have to buy a 3lb lump hammer. Short of mortgaging your house for Stiletto hammers, Estwing is probably your best bet for quality "hand powered kinetic impulse generators". I have four different ones, and absolutely no intent of switching to any other brand. Highly recommended.
