This works well
If you have a mini lathe it may have a Morse taper #1. B you can also get a Morse taper adapter so you can use a #2 in a #1 which decreases the length a bit. If you want too turn pens you need this part.

Very durable mandrel
I like this mandrel. It’s easy to use and is very durable. I turn a lot of pens and use mine a lot. I’ve had it for sometime now and consider it a good investment.

Mostly OK
I am just getting into pen making and didn't want to drop a ton of cash at first. Just in case I shifted to something else. A mandrel is a must have and this one checked all the boxes. When I received it I noticed there were only 4 bushings, not 5 as described. I then measured the shaft and it is 1/4 inch. Technically, this was a correct description. But it also says 7mm, which it is not. 1/4 is closer to 6mm. Not a huge deal, unless you drill out your blank at 7mm. This creates some play while turning. After a couple of practice pieces I noticed they were all off center, by 1mm. So now I just drill them with a 1/4 bit instead of a 7mm. Problem solved. Otherwise, this mandrel does as needed an does it well. Knowing this, I would still buy it again.

Fantastic. Minimal runout. Though, that brass wheel was a bit of a poor design choice.
