These are pretty consistent in taste, texture, and freshness. I used to love the pretty sulphured apricots but slowly transitioned to these which are good but not as tasty as the orange oldies. However these are healthier and filled with vital minerals. I use them for health but also as a treat replacing deserts such as ice cream or pastries. They can be a bit addicting but in a good way. I try to limit 3-4 pieces twice a day which seems to be a nice compromise between healthy and decadence.

RAISED from 2 stars to 5. The latest half-dozen bags of apricots I've bought from Terrasoul have been the best I've ever tasted. I didn't know Turkish apricots could be *this* good. They were picked fully ripe, are dark in color, and sweet beyond belief. Good work, Terrasoul! *** Ordered a bag a couple of weeks ago. They were **fantastic** -- moist, very large, intensely sweet and complex flavors. Best Turkish apricots I've ever tasted. Next bag, received today: apricots are half the size, significantly drier, much less sweet, and not much flavor. Perhaps Terrasoul should have rejected this batch from their supplier. I'll still get other Terrasoul products that have been very consistent (Medjool dates, sesame seeds, flax seeds) but this is disappointing because the first bag of apricots were wonderful, and this bag just isn't. To salvage this bag, I placed the too-dry apricots in a little water, which improves them quite a bit.

Short Review : I love Terrasoul products. Highly recommend. Long Review : I'm a fan of Terrasoul products (and I've tried many). At first, this particular 907g/2 lb. bag of sun-dried apricots seemed flawed. I know not to compare organic, unsulphured, unsweetened, no-color-added dried apricots to commercial. Commercial apricots are bright orange because of added dyes, chemicals (namely sulfur dioxide), added sugar, oils, etc. Organic dried fruit (like organic fresh fruit) may not be as aesthetically pleasing as conventionally grown and processed fruit, but many of us prefer organic; sans chemicals and dyes (or pesticides or preservatives). When dried without added chemicals, the natural sugars in apricots caramelize, resulting in a darker brown color. That said, the Terrasoul sun-dried apricots aren't very pretty, as-is. This bag contained apricots with an unusual granular substance that left sand-like grit in my teeth. The ingredients : "Organic Pitted Dried Apricots -- May Contain Some Pits (Prunus Armeniaca) Packaged in a facility that handles tree nuts". The granular bits may be ground pits, but I suspect the sand-like texture is another Terrasoul product. Terrasoul processes various refined and milled grains, protein powders, seed-blends, psyllium, flax, pea-protein, charcoal-activated powder, desiccated coconut, chia seed powder, oats, and flours (to name just a few). I know this grit isn't sugar (it's not sweet and doesn't appear to have much flavor in and of itself -- it's just a granular substance). The only way to describe it is sand-like..?! I have never rinsed dried fruits, vegetables, or berries pre-consumption in the past (and I'm not sure if others do), but this experience with gritty sun-dried apricots has changed that. Rinsing dried fruits (seems to be) a necessity now. Here's what Amazon's Ai "Rufus" has to say : Dried fruits are generally safe to consume without rinsing, but there are a few considerations: - Dirt/debris - There is a small chance of dirt, insect parts or other debris making it into dried fruit packages. A quick rinse can help remove any visible contaminants. - Soaking - Soaking very hard, dry fruits such as apricots or figs in water for 30 minutes before eating can help rehydrate them and make them easier to chew. I contacted Terrasoul customer support (very helpful). They also provide real-time online chat, email contact-us, and have an actual "live" human at customer service. I still recommend all of the other Terrasoul products, including their sun-dried apricots (but I suggest rinsing and soaking before consuming).

Terrible product - Not an expired bag but TOTAL contents were terrible, discolored, no moisture at all, hard as rocks ... very disappointed.
