Another fine product from SunFounder
Upon opening the box, you don't have to search for tiny manuals. You are presented with a large sturdy sheet of paper complete with easy to read and identify parts list and assembly manual. All parts in the box are easily identifiable and small parts are separated into small packages and well identified with a matching description from the parts list. Very professional. The compact 7" Display is encased in a metal housing and connected to the logic control board making for a rugged and sturdy feeling module. Good job with the most important part. The expansion port for the RPI board is brilliant and makes for a sturdy and reliable connection for my Pi4. Confidence is building as I continue with the assembly.I didn't like peeling the paper off the acrylic plate but it wasn't too bad. The connection between the Pi and Display requires NO cabling. Care should be taken when inserting the bridge connections, however. The camera mount is conveniently located and the plastic rivets attach it securely to the back plate. Nicely done.Initial power up indeed took me to the "Pi Desktop", but would not boot from a new Raspian 64-bit SD card. Or it would so appear. The Pi seemed to be active but the display went to sleep. READ THE TUTORIAL! I need to use the 32-bit legacy version -Debian Buster- as the OS.This OS booted successfully and I will leave what I discovered a surprise for the next buyer.Another fine product from SunFounder in the display category. I recommend the PiPower battery pack but haven't received it yet from SunFounder. I will update this review when I evaluate it.

Great product. I Highly recommend it
This screen comes in a kit that is very easy to assemble. I works great, looks great, and provides high quality picture and decent sound for what it is. This thing makes for a fantastic IoT device similar to a google hub or Amazon Echo Show. I use mine as desktop addition to show my daily / weekly schedule, weather, upcoming big events like trips I have scheduled etc. it also works well as my zoom meeting device though the screen is a bit small if the presenter is sharing their screen. While it has a great spot for a 2.5” SSD. Note this is a mounting point only. You still need to buy a USB3 type A to SATA adapter. Not a down check, but it would be nice if there were a way to hide this cable a bit but there just plain isn’t a way.

Excellent monitor, minor ergomic issue
Very easy to assemble. Excellent and well illustrated instructions. Providing a small Phillips screwdriver is a nice touch. Much better display than the official one from the Raspberry Pi organization. Great value and performance for the price. You can drive this up to a very high resolution if desired. This is perfect for my portable amateur radio station. I found that 1600x900 made it hard to read even though more apps could be displayed. For me the sweet spot was 848x480. Used Openbox to add some virtual desktops to recover screen area at the lower resolution. Why not 5 stars for the Overall Rating? To keep the display tilted back at a readable angle, you are provided with a solid post maybe 2 inches long that screws into the back from the inside. This makes it inconvenient to put into a gear bag because the post sticks out. A better choice would have been a kickstand. I found an inexpensive stand for a generic tablet for $11.99 on Amazon that folds up and holds this display perfectly.

Great monitor
Great monitor, and I say monitor and not screen because monitor implies it needs its own power source, which this does. And man is it a power hog, but it is worth it.

Good screen, easier to read than I thought it would be at this size.
I'm using this as a screen for a mini-PC for astrophotography. I am using applications with numerous small text windows and though I'm not going to pretend that this is huge, it's surprisingly readable and useful. My only comment is that I wish that it had a power switch. As it stands my only way to turn it off is to unplug the USB cable. I've had mine outside at night for weeks (kept dry, of course) and no issues.

Easy to use and good touch accuracy, but. . .
Easy to use and good touch accuracy, but the screen scratches very easily. For my purposes that's not a deal breaker, but is worth noting none the less.

Fantastic little screen!
Good quality screen, easy to assemble and best of all the raspberry pi headers are broken out and easily accessible while everything is assembled in a clean setup.the touch screen is accurate, plug and play with no drivers required, it just works! The raspberry pi connects to the screen with no wires! several other screens you end up with this long HDMI wire hanging out in outer space, with this one it is very clean with a HDMI bridge between the pi and the screens HDMI port, making for a clean setupAs a secondary use it makes for a awesome screen to quickly check the status on my NAS that runs without a screen unless you plug one in, quickly plug in a HDMI for video and USB for power and you got your self a very portable very easy to use troubleshooting screen

Touch Functionality Does Not Work - Basically an Expensive 7" Screen
I may have gotten a defective touchscreen, or this is a scam. The screen displays my Raspberry Pi just fine, but the touch functionality does not work, no matter what I try. The touchscreen itself does not show up as a device in Raspbian, despite being connected via USB. Contacted their technical support to see if I needed to install a driver. Being in China, I had to wait 24 hours between responses, and all I got was "can you send us some pictures" despite explaining what was wrong in great detail. After I sent them the pictures, their response was "Hi, Thanks for your reply. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. Best Regards, Richard". They didn't even TRY to address my issue. So, I'm returning it. My advice to you is to look elsewhere for a small touchscreen. This device doesn't cut it, and their tech support is LAUGHABLE.
