Hi, I want to make sure this fan can extract air from a room, if mounted on the outside wall will it take air from the inside area to the outside area

Dear Customer, The fan can extract the air from the inside area to the outside area. The suction direction is unidirectional, this kitchen exhaust fan has the air inlet on the grid side of the square panel and the outlet on the end of the round duct on the back. The fan draws in from the grille side and blows out through the pipe. Different installation directions will obtain suction in different directions.

If I remove the whole of the rear black section including the louvres on the "White-a" fan, will the fan still switch on and rotate normally??

Dear Customer, If you remove the part you mentioned, the exhaust fan will still open and rotate normally, as long as you do not touch the internal motor and other parts. Please note that the black part of the rear is automatically turned on when the exhaust fan is plugged in and turned on, and slowly closes after the power is turned off.
