I was struggling to find a good guide book with maps for a holiday to the Rockies and the Pacific Rim. This book did the business - we used it to plan our road trip and did more things listed in the book than we thought we would. Can't recommend it highly enough. Well laid out, great descriptions and local maps - content is up to date and relevant, so top marks for the researchers.

This book is great! My wife and I used it to plan a road trip around Vancouver Island, Vancouver and southern British Columbia. The suggested routes allow rough initial planning, and detailed chapters on different regions allowed us to not only explore the National Parks, but also other parts of BC, including the Kootenays and Okanagan. The regional maps are useful but also recommend a good road map too for planning and while on the road - we used ITMB’s British Columbia South.

I just got back from a 3 week trip across the Rockies with my daughter, and I can't recommend this book highly enough. Even though I have been out to this part of the world a number of times over the last few years I plainly barely scraped the surface of what it has to offer, whereas the author has done so much more research than I ever could. The latest printing of this is bang up to date, and more than comprehensive. Every recommendation we followed from more than met our hopes, whether that was somewhere to eat, something to see or a trail to hike. There is also plenty of other useful content and stories that added to our understanding and enjoyment of the places we visited. So even if you think you know the area, bring along a copy of this book.

An amazing book to plan your Vancouver and Rockies trip. We used it this summer and it proved invaluable and it had some great recommendations. Of the two books we bought, this was the best for planning the trip.

This book gives lots useful information and advises what places and attractions to visit . Lovely pictures as well . Always find these kind of books very helpful full of facts too

Best tour guide I have found on this subject. Good information on all the national and provincial parks. Just the right amount of detail. But, it is not a hotel recommendation type of book. Also, due to popularity in the summer, they stress that this is not the kind of road trip to do at the last minute. We used it because we were in Calgary for few days and it was very useful for finding the best things to see in the city or on day trips.

Fantastic guide! We used this book for our vacation in the Canadian Rockies, will use again when we visit Vancouver later this year. Restaurant recommendations are spot on, as were recommendations as to best places to visit in Yoho and Kootenays National Parks and hikes and vistas along the Icefield Parkway!
