We have bought these as well as the bug spray. They smell beautiful unlike some other bug sprays. They repel mosquitoes in southwest Georgia and they don’t have harsh chemicals.

These candles smell really nice, with a natural mix of citronella and essential oils that is pleasant and not overpowering. I like that they are made with clean ingredients and do not have that harsh, chemical scent some bug candles do. The tins are sturdy, and they burn evenly for several hours, which makes them great for setting the mood during outdoor dinners or relaxing in the yard. They give off a cozy, natural fragrance that I actually enjoy having around even if the bugs are not bad. That said, I am not entirely sure how effective they are at keeping mosquitoes away. I have still noticed a few bugs nearby even when the candle is burning. They might work better in smaller, more enclosed areas or when used in multiples. Overall, I like the way they smell and how they add to the outdoor atmosphere, but I am not convinced they make a big difference for mosquito control.

I don't have a mosquito problem on my 6th floor balcony, but flies love to come up and hang out with my plants. None of them are the biting kind, but they get really interested in my drinks and food and hair and everything else I'm doing while I'm out here, it's really annoying. And there are like 12 different species, from gnats to the giant house flies. I bought these candles and they help keep them away. The ones that can take the scent upfront don't hang out for nearly as long, they buzz away in less than a minute. Yay! Also, I get migraines from artificial scents and the soot from paraffin candles. My poor brain does not lie. It will react EVERY time and lay me up for days. I can tell you that they are honest about what goes into these. No migraines, even when I keep the burning candles close to me. I recommend.
