Built Like a Tank and Surprisingly Comfortable
The build quality on this knife is no joke — the D2 steel feels solid and holds its edge incredibly well. The handle has a secure, grippy texture that makes it comfortable to use for long outdoor tasks. The balance is on point, making it easy to control whether you’re cutting rope, prepping wood, or handling basic camp chores. The sheath locks it in firmly, so it stays put without rattling around. If you want a reliable fixed blade for camping or utility work, this one delivers serious value.

Probably the best kabar clone/version I've seen, especially for the money
This knife has been through quite a bit, I've used it for batoning, chopping through sappy pine branches, feather sticking, being dropped several times edge down on concrete for testing. The D2 steel is probably the best way to go for a knife like this, and given that Ka-bars official D2 option is double the price of this I couldn't recommend it more. There is a few issues however, firstly the handle is made of rubber, which has amazing grip but will wear out eventually over time, not sure if it's something repairable but it may be. The clip that holds the knife on the frog is held by a single seam, which isn't confidence inspiring to say the least. Some pros- Edge retention is amazing Thicker tang that official Ka-Bar offerings Grip is solid, comfortable, and grippy. Scabbard holds knife very well, frog isn't amazing but not terrible. Some cons- Rubber handle will wear out over time single stitch to secure knife to frog finish isn't super durable, but definitely reasonable (Nitpick): The lettering is very bold and lacks subtly, not something that affects usability at all but just a little thing I don't love. Conclusion- I would buy this knife a million times again, it's priced insanely competitively compared to other options and never disappointed. Being dropped edge first on concrete and not even dulling a noticeable amount was a great plus. For outdoor or even tactical uses, this knife would perform great.

Better than original.
This is a nice knife for the money. Cold Steel version of KaBar Knife. Its an improvement over the original if you ask me , but it doesn't have the history or nostalgia of the original. Sheath is very good as well.

Excellent budget ka-bar usmc clone
I compared this blade to several other knives in searching for a great outdoor blade. I ended up going with a different knife, but there was a lot to like about this knife. The knife’s ka-bar usmc styling is very familiar and a classic design. I ended up going with a beefier blade in 1095 steel, which fit my desire for heavy bushcraft usage and ease of sharpening in the field. I would have chosen this knife if I was looking for a good all arounder that could serve for survival, self defense, camp kitchen, etc., but I wanted something that I could beat on, resharpen, and beat on again. The knife I chose was an Esee 6, and the no questions asked warranty, 3D grip, and beefier blade made the Esee a no-brainer as the best tool for my purposes.

Great knife
If you love kabar knives like I do then you'll love the Leatherneck-sf. It has a thicker blade, wider tang, more textured rubber handle and the hand gard is turned up so it does dig into my hand. Super sharp, rarely needs a touch up but easy to sharpen

A heavy knife with great balance
Just opened the box for the Leatherneck. It was well packaged and in perfect condition even though it was mailed in a soft bag from Amazon. Delivery was only a couple of days after my order was placed. Always pleased with Amazon service Now for the knife. It came very sharp with a light bead of oil on the blade. The blade is perfectly straight and it appears made to last a lifetime even with heavy use. I find it hard to believe the quality of this knife for the price. I was going to buy the Ka Bar but after reading the reviews I decided on the leatherneck. The knife is sturdy and I like that the piece between the blade and handle is thicker than a Ka Bar and it is not off set as I have seen on the Ka Bar knives. The metal is very smooth and shaped to fit the hand comfortably. . I am very pleased with this knife and it does live up to the Cold steel description. The sheath is perfect. It removes easily but does not fall out when turned. I may cut off the cloth clip because it is not needed with this sheath. I recommend the leatherneck without reservation.

Cold Steel Leatherneck SF
I always wanted a Ka-bar knife but because of the rat tail tang I never purchased one. The Cold Steel Leatherneck SF is much stronger and modern knife. The D2 steel is great. The SecuEx sheath fit perfectly. Although the Leatherneck wasn’t designed to be a bush craft knife if you are a city person and only go to the woods every now and then this knife will serve well. It is a fighting knife, camping knife, a self defense knife, jack of all trade kinda knife. Mine came almost hair shaving sharp and that is okay. Highly recommended.
