It must be hung where the squirrels cannot jump to it, which defeats the purpose of the double cage....a single cage is much cheaper. The bottom on mine has come loose twice, from squirrels, so I drilled holes in the bottom at 3 places and wired it on. That solved the problem of it coming apart. Until now, those pesky Starling found their way in my old suet feeder and cleaned me out of my homemade suet. Now, the Double Oversized, large design makes it impossible for the Starlings to enter because of the 14 inch round design.
