My husband was diagnosed with aphasia and has difficulty interpreting letters and words. We purchased this set of flash cards and he reads them everyday. The vision therapist has noticed an improvement and he is actually starting to recognize and see words as a whole vs having to read each individual letter. Definitely a help to him and I believe it would help even younger children improve their reading skills. There are easy words and more difficult words which make it fun and challenging.

The cards are sturdy. It comes with rings but we just use them as flash cards. My son is doing very well with it. Nice quality. A bit larger than a playing card. The material is like a coated glossy plastic type feel.

I've always been a fan of flash cards since I was a kids as they help you remember and recite quickly through repetition. I usually by the 3 x 5 recipe cards from the work supply store and make them myself. That is until I saw these pre-made and geared to different age levels. These are fantastic and has helped get my children up to speed super quick by running through the cards every night before bed. They even run the cards between themselves. My 7 year is running them with my two 5 year old twins. They're great.
