Contigo Streeterville Desk Mug Insulated Coffee Thermal Mug with Stainless Steel Handle

I've been using the Contigo Streeterville desk mug for a couple of weeks now, mostly at my desk and around the house. I pour my coffee in around 8 am, and it's still comfortably hot around noon so it easily holds heat for 4–5 hours. That matches what other reviews have reported about its vacuum insulation keeping drinks hot for hours and cold even longer. The stainless steel handle feels sturdy and makes sipping easier. The base has a rubberized grip that prevents sliding which is a nice touch. The lid isn’t completely leak proof and tilting it can cause a leak, but it’s splash proof at least but this should not be an issuse if used as a desk/office mug as intended. It is all dishwasher safe, so it's low maintenance. And the slider which slides over the sip hole can be removed for easy cleaning. I’ve had no staining issues yet, though I take care to rinse it fairly quickly after use. It holds a good amount, (420 ml), and fits nicely under my single-serve coffee maker which is perfect for refills. That said, it's too wide for a standard car cup holders, so it’s not great if you plan to commute with it. It’s a reliable desk mug. Keeps beverages at a good sipping temp for hours, feels solid, and is easy to clean. Not perfect for travel and can leak if tilted too much but for stationary use, especially at home or in the office (As designed for), it’s spot on.

Before buying this I did a fair bit of research online, and bought some right rubbish as well. Beside generic junk, I had sampled Thermos' own Thermocafe range which felt plasticky and grim compared with their excellent flasks, of which I own several. Contigo also make very good quality travel cups and some of the negativity in reviews on this site looks to be generated by people imagining that this is a travel cup. It isn't. Others seem not to have read the instructions or the description. So here goes... This is a handsome looking desk mug. At 14oz. it is a good size. The "sake" shade that I chose is attractive. It has a rubber base that grips reasonably well and excellent insulation for a desk mug holding heat for several hours. With no screw down insulated lid, it cannot match a flask for heat retention or leakage but it is not intended to do so. Apparent "flaws" 1. It can spill/it leaks - because it is a desk mug (see above). This is explicit in both the description and the instructions - but the listing on this site is misleading with the phrase "leak proof". Is it a mistake? Just try not to knock it over, as you would with any mug. 2. The handle is uncomfortable and it is difficult to drink from - it is not uncomfortable for my large hands, in fact the opposite. I also have a big mouth (how can you tell?) so sipping from this is a pleasure. These "criticisms" reminds me of reviews complaining about hats being too big or small but with no reference to hat size, so, with that In mind, I take a large (not XL) mens glove and "One Size" hats rarely fit me. 3. The lid may pop off if the water is too hot - well yes. But this is because it is a press fit lid held in by its gasket. It specifically states that it may do this in the instructions and how to deal with it (I e., wait 3 minutes - in other words the time it takes to brew tea - who would have guessed?). 4. It is pricey - but it isn't when compared to desk mugs with heater and app at more than 10x the price, nor if, like me, you end up buying cheaper 'bargain' junk which needs replacing or binning. 5. It arrived dented/scratched/with coffee stains - that's horrible. So send it back! See Amazon's guarantee. A delivery problem does not merit a 1 or 2 star review for a quality product, especially if you can get a refund or replacement, photos or not. Because of the negative reviews on this very site, I very nearly passed on this one. I'm now thinking of getting a second, and maybe even one as a gift for a friend. Star ratings are all very well but read the reviews. I'm glad I did. I rarely give 5 star reviews myself, but honestly - this is worth it. I only hope it lasts - it does what it says it will do. Thank you Contigo. Edit - so happy was I that I ordered another for a Christmas present. A bit surprised that it arrived undamaged given that it had no box, just a plastic bag in an Amazon wrapper. Had to remove a star - as a warning to anyone giving this as a gift.

Lovely sturdy mug, good looking too. It keeps my drink hot for ages. I like my tea/coffee to be hot but l am always getting distracted and then when l go back to the drink it has cooled. With this mug it just doesn't happen. Even with the lid off it stays hot for a long time. I have got used to using the lid though and l've never had a drink go cool. It's easy to care for, no need to use the dishwasher. It's also way cheaper than similar items. I have not found there are any problem with leaking or dripping but l don't use it for travel as that would need a different product.

Fantastic mug. Use this at work as often takes 2-3 house to drink a cup of tea (customer facing job). This is nice to drink from, even when using the lid and keeps it warm for hours. The lid isn’t leak proof, but it’s certainly enough when walking about or sitting at a desk. Would certainly recommend

I have two of these Grey and Blue and very shortly after buying them the paint peeled off????

the item is good and does what needed .. its for coffee and works well u can drink other beverages in it the lid is not leakprood but this is described in the inclosed i structions .. its designed to be carried upright as u would with any coffee the lid is just to keep heat in / stop insects getting in been looking for a suitable lidded cup for that purpose and this fits the bill perfectly .. i got for out in the garden rather than using an open mug without a lid

Superbe mug avec une très bonne isolation. Je dois généralement attendre assez longtemps pour pouvoir boire mon the :))) La base large permet d'éviter de renverser son mug trop souvent. C'est d'ailleurs d'autant plus nécessaire que le bouchon n'est pas très étanche. L'autre problème avec le couvercle c'est qu'il est un peu difficile a enlever. Il ne se visse pas malheureusement. J'ai également remarque que la peinture pouvait s'effriter facilement surtout sous l'anse avec les bagues.
