A tough plastic. A great pocket size . Can be wiped clean. I use these in a camp in Africa and we used for over 1000 patients and these look like new

This is NOT a standard Snellen chart. A Snellen chart has eight [8] letters on the 20/20 line, and seven [7] letters on the 20/25 line. THIS distance chart has only five [5] letters on both the 20/20 and 20/25 lines. With a Snellen chart, we can allow someone to pass at 20/20 or 20/25 if the miss one or (maybe) two letters (recorded as "20/20 -1", with the "-1" as a superscript to the "20/20", for someone who missed one letter on 20/20); but with this chart, that's not a smart choice. On a Snellen chart, if someone gets 7 out of 8 letters correct on a line, that's an 87.5% pass rate for the line; compared to 80% if someone misses a letter on the 20/20 or 20/25 lines. Do you want someone with that lower pass rate driving in the opposite lane on a highway and coming toward you and your family? Not. I will be returning this item for a proper Snellen chart. NO, I WOULD NOT BUY THIS AGAIN, AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.
