best instant pot i’ve ever owned!
this instant pot was revered as one of the best and after using it a few times i can see why! upon first receiving it, this thing was definitely waay bigger than i thought it would be. it takes up a lotttt of counter space! and i have a small kitchen.. but it keeps me from having to buy a huge pot so it’s a nonnegotiable and essential item to batch cook meals for later. one of my favorite features is the whisper quiet function cuz if you’ve had any instant pots in the past, it gets noisy! i love how user friendly it is and how it lets you know when it’s preheating, cooking, and warming. my meals finish so quickly and thoroughly. this thing is amazing and i love love lovvve it! i will say that i did have a little trouble in the beginning when i was first trying to use it. when i selected “pressure cook” and i selected an option (ex: beans) it never finished preheating and i wasted many hours thinking it was cooking when it wasn’t 🥲 needless to say, i had a really late dinner that night lol. ended up figuring that i just needed to select custom when pressure cooking and manually set the time and pressure. this could also just be a user error though (don’t come for me, i did not read the user manual okkk 😆) the only thing i genuinely have a complaint about is the color of the start button. it’s a darker green which blends in so makes it easy to miss. other than that, this is honestly such great value for money, as well as safe and easy to use once you figure it out.

Quieter. Dial is simpler to use than models with all the buttons
Was recommended by a friend to get this. Most important thing is remembering how many minutes each food type needs. The new dial with “preset times” per food type helps avoid that and is less confusing than the model with too many buttons. You really don’t need all the bells and whistles if you have a recipe book nearby that tells you times; but for the same reason I love my Maverick ProTemp instant thermometer, they both have readings right on the appliance itself. Haven’t figured out how to cook polenta without scalding the bottom, but also haven’t figured out how to make it so tasty any other method! Pressure release is very quiet compared to my friends older non-”whisper quiet” version. 6qt is perfect for me (feeds no more than 4-5 adults), and is easy to find a place to store it as well. Seems fairly sturdy where it counts like the stainless steel insert. The insert is rather tall though. It takes more time to sear meat since there is effectively an 8” chimney for which the steam must travel to evaporate (vs 2” tall sauté pan that breathes easily). Overall a good inexpensive buy. Soft boiled eggs are quick and amazingly great (thanks to the dial to remind me they need to be low pressure). This beats the socks off my high quality German manual pressure cooker (thanks for the recommendation and the memories Alton. It’s still the fastest boiling pot in the west!), where I had to babysit and adjust temperature throughout the duration of the cook for every new recipe.

Excelente olla la recomiendo 100%
The Instant Pot Duo Plus is a blast. Cook food much faster and with delicious results. It is very easy to use thanks to its digital display and clear functions. I love the variety of options—it can work as a pressure cooker, slow cooker, steamer, and more—all in one appliance. Plus, it's easy to clean and saves time in the kitchen. Perfect for preparing complete meals in a short time. It definitely deserves the 5 stars!

Not literally whisper quiet but a significant step up over my old instant pot
I bought this to replace my old 8 quart Duo Crisp which I was handing over to someone else. The overall design has not changed much aside from the vent setup. The new "whisper quiet" technology is a plastic baffles that sits over the weighted steam release valve. It's not literally whisper quiet but it's a big improvement over my old pot. In my old pot I had to put a towel over the release valve to prevent steam from violently shooting into the underside of my cabinets and causing condensation to drip back down. This new device sends steam out the side over a wider area and so it's quieter and slower. The weighted steam release valve looks to be the same shape, weight, and size as before, and so replacements should be easy. However, the float valve has been redesigned with a soft rubber top, so a replacement might be a little harder to find, and I'm not sure if the old one would be compatible. The float valve silicone cap is the same as before. The metal filter cap for the release valve also looks to be the same. The inner pot looks to be about the same quality as my old one, and weighs exactly 1kg now, which is nice for when you are using a scale to progressively add ingredients by weight. It's 13g less than my old pot so I don't think they've cheaped out. There are now felt/rubber nubs on the inside of the outer pot to help prevent the inner pot from spinning when stirring food inside. It also comes with an extra silicone sealing ring which is nice (my Duo Crisp did not come with an extra one). The lid is now fully covered with plastic so there's less of a chance of burning yourself as the old design had exposed metal on the lid. The unit is significantly lighter than my Duo Crisp, probably because it doesn't need the additional circuitry for the air fryer component (which I didn't find very useful). It is about the same size as my Duo Crisp. The new display is quite nice and feels a bit more upscale, although I did find navigating it a bit clunkier than my old unit - not a big deal. I like that they've retained the ability to turn off sounds and change from degrees F to C. As for performance, it seems to preheat at about the same speed as my old unit. The sous vide function is about the same as my Duo Crisp, namely, it's not super accurate (up to 5F off), but is adequate for my purposes. Overall, I think it's a competent upgrade over their old design. Nothing revolutionary, but nothing really bad to say about it. If you are needing a new unit for whatever reason, you can't go wrong with this new model.
