It depends how you use it. This is from the website: This means that you can get up to 72 hours of runtime on the lowest setting, or up to 1.5 hours of runtime on the highest setting. Remember, that it's smaller than a stick of chap stick so it's not really a primary flashlight. It's a keychain flashlight with incredible performance. If using it at full power I believe it will automatically switch down to 80 lumens after a minute or a minute and a half. I think that's a heat thing. It's so small that there's not really a way for it to dissipate heat so if it's on high for a minute don't touch the front because it can get extremely hot.

Next time, it will be the mode when you turn it on. So you can turn it off when it is working on the lowest brightness for over 3 mins, then next time it will start at this brightness.
