Great Audiophile Value and Performance
I’m currently using the GearIT 12AWG Speaker Cable Wire with Gold-Plated Banana Tip Plugs (10 Feet) to connect my McIntosh MC501 mono block amplifiers to my Sonus Faber Stradivari speakers. For those unfamiliar, this is a high-end, premium audio setup. Previously, I used Wireworld speaker cables, but they were left behind when I moved, so I’m unable to make a direct comparison. As a passionate audiophile, I do believe that cables can influence sound quality, albeit with diminishing returns. Given that I only needed a short run, I opted for these 12-gauge cables, which can easily handle the 500-watt output of my mono amps, with peaks up to 1200 watts. The speakers sound excellent with these cables. While it’s possible that even more expensive options—such as silver cables—might offer slight improvements, these GearIT cables offer outstanding value, and their build quality is solid.

I only use top quality electronics & Gear IT cables are high Quality.
I bought the " Gear IT" brand of speaker cables as a temp solution until I could get into my storage locker to retrieve the $1,500 apiece McIntosh Cables and $300 Emotiva cables I stored along with electronics when we got new carpeting , I run 2 pair of McIntosh XRT-22 line array speakers as front & rears ,the fronts I had biwired with McIntosh Banana to spade wires and the rears is where I used the Gear speaker wires ,I have my listening room live mic'ed hard wired to a DBX spectrum analyzer ,when I 1st hooked up the inexpensive wires I didn't expect much so I didn't turn on the spectrum analyzer at 1st,after a few songs I started doing A/B tests with the fronts & rears ran by my 2 channel preamp ,the rears get the exact signal as the fronts ,when doing the A/B tests I thought the " Gear " wires sounded good with a bit more high end than the McIntosh wires on the fronts ,I turned on the DBX & started doing series of A/B tests while monitoring the display for differences in speaker response that would show up if the speakers were performing different than the other matched pair. The bright high end was all in my head, once I could see on the analyzer there was absolutely zero difference in speaker response aka sound ,that's when I realized the Gear brand wires that cost me $45 sounded just alike with the McIntosh wires I paid $3,000 for ,I was shocked ,when I got all my electronics & wires home I tested my Emotiva brand cables against the McIntosh cables 1st and saw a slight raise in " Transient Peaks " from the Emotiva wires ,I chalked that up to the Emotiva wires being 2 totally separate speaker wires with Bananas on 1 end & spades on the other ends which gave 2 contact points with the amps ,and 2 contact points at the speaker ,the McIntosh cables only have 3 contact points ,2 at the speaker & 1 at the amp ,next I did A/B tests against the single pair of banana terminated wires against the Emotiva double cables ,the results were the same ,the 2 individual pairs of cables slightly out performed the single pair of Gear IT branded cables with slightly increased Transient Peaks . I like the Gear IT brand cables so much that I ordered a 2nd 25 foot long pair that I'm scheduled to receive on Tuesday ,my plan is to do a true Bi-wire with 2 pairs of Gear wires on 1 pair of speakers ,I plan on running 1 pair to the Woofers and the 2nd pair to the Tweeters ,just like I ran my 2 pairs of Emotiva cables ,if I see the same increase in Transient peaks being displayed on the DBX analyzer I will be buying 2 more pair of 25 foot banana terminated wires to do true Bi-wiring of both pairs of speakers ,I will also order 3 pair of 10 foot Gear IT brand cables that will allow me to do a true Tri-wire of the McIntosh XRT-28 line arrays in my 2 channel system ,I'll be running banana terminations on the 4 woofers ,bananas on the 52 mid-range driver's & bananas on the 26 tweeters ,on the monoblock amps I'll be running 2 pairs of spade Terminations tightened under the speaker connection ,then the 3rd wire will be banana Terminated and plugged directly into each amps speaker terminals . The $22 per speaker Gear IT brand speaker wires aren't the same quality build as my McIntosh speaker wires that cost me $1,500 per speaker but they aren't junk build either ,the 1 and only issue I can see is the Gear IT branded cables don't have heat shrink over the banana terminations where the coupling can be unscrewed from the cable ,I'm ordering heat shrink tubing to put 6" pieces over every banana & spade terminal ,once that quick $5 upgrade is done I'll be selling the Mcintosh & Emotiva speaker wires I spent over $12,000 buying on eBay ,do not hesitate in buying every speaker wire you need from Gear IT,they are excellent wires of great build quality .

GearIT Speaker Cable
These GearIT speaker cables are very sturdy and well-built, with a braided jacket and cable "pants" to finish them off. A beautiful speaker cable, much better looking (and much cheaper) than my Audioquest and QED speaker cables. HOWEVER... I really don't know about these plugs. They are listed as BANANA plugs, but they aren't; and they're not BFA plugs either. They look like a new type, maybe a Chinese invention. They did NOT look as though they would make as solid an electrical connection as a conventional banana plug OR a BFA plug. I have BFAs on both my Audioquest and QED cables and personally prefer regular bananas. From other reviews here on Amazon, I wasn't about to take any chances on a plug breaking off in a socket. These cables will be used in a bedroom system and will be difficult to access. I don't have the time or the patience to disassemble equipment to push out a broken plug from the inside. Rather than take the chance, I immediately removed the questionable plugs and replaced them with Sewell Silverback Banana Plugs (available on Amazon) that I already had on hand. The Silverback Banana Plugs aren't perfect either, as they are not insulated (neither are the GearIT) and should be covered with heat shrink tubing (also available on Amazon), but I've used the Silverbacks for several years without any problems. The knurled body is interchangeable between the GearIT and the Sewell plugs, as are the set screws (in case you lose one. Or several.). I disassembled one end of one cable and slipped two scrap pieces of 1/2 inch red heat shrink onto the cable pants to mark each end of the right channel and reassembled the end. After rechecking polarity with a multimeter, a final check to be sure the set screws are as tight as I could get them, and the knurled body is as tight on the plugs as I could get them, I used 2 inch lengths of 3/8 inch red and black heat shrink tubing and a heat gun to finish them off. The pieces of heat shrink on the plugs insulate and make it easier to see hot and neutral in dim light. See photo. UPDATE: Still loving these cables, going from a Denon AVR-S570BT to a pair of ELAC Debut 2.0 B5.2 bookshelf speakers. This is prolly overkill for a bedroom system but it makes watching TV a bit more involving. I really do wish they sold them in pairs though.

This is the good kind of snake oil
Solid speaker cables. Don't need hyper-expensive wire for HIFI audio

Exceptional looks and aesthetics for a high value price
Pros: Heavy 12AWG wire, suitable for all home audio connections Sleek design, with a clean white jacket Rubber tube design that beautifies the banana plug termination on the wire Modified Banana Plug style that provides a very secure connection Cons: Some may find the plugs a bit too tight to insert/remove from binding posts L/R marking is done with Red/White colored brand logo printed on the banana plug connector vs a standard red/white band or marking. Right out of the box, the aesthetic is stunning. The white jacketed wires lend a clean, modern look to my audio setup, which lives in the living room. That means the wife needs to approve all upgrades/changes to fit in with the 'decor'. These passed that test no problem compared to the industrial looking wires I was using before! The thick wire gauge ensures durability and optimal performance. The audio quality is crystal clear and transparent, no signs of interference here! I've never quite seen banana connectors of this style, they have a cylindrical connector with a sort of spring loaded pin on one side to lock into the binding post. It is not a typical banana plug, but it fit securely, and honestly I think I prefer this connector type. Does not have that typical banana plug wobble. I also love the fact his comes in long lengths! I needed a 25ft run for one of my rear surrounds, and finding a cable at this quality that was so affordable is great. Overall, these speaker wires are not only functional but also enhance the visual appeal of my space. Highly recommend for anyone looking to upgrade their audio experience!

luxury
This cable is durable and has a luxurious feel that makes me look like an audio expert. As someone with an average ear, I can't tell what the difference in performance is. There is just the psychological satisfaction of using this product to me.
