Decent Suspension Strut Spreader
This is a non-OEM product, the principle of this item is to open and expand the gap of the wheel hub bearing seat or any other gapped area. This product is safe and efficient. The parallel pressure work surface prevents the tool from accidentally ejecting or slipping. The range scope of this tool is 5.0-13mm which should be plenty for Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes, BMW and Ford vehicles. This is a must have item if you are doing any type of work with suspension parts. Made of high-quality carbon steel, it is durable, does not appear to be easy to break and can be used for years. Comes with a 1-year warranty. Time will tell though how well the item holds up, but at this point, I would recommend this item.

Seems like it will work, hard to test
I've had to separate struts before and it is a nasty job. This tool looks as if it will help with the issue. It seems well built and the threads are good. I ran a simple test by trying to spread the jaws in my bench vise. Not that it had any chance to move the vise, but it tightened up nice and didn't feel that anything was yielding. My only concern is if the tabs on this will engage solidly enough with the gap in the struts.Wish that I could do a better job of testing, but I don't have any struts that I need to remove right now.

Strut spreader tool.
I'm an older seasoned automotive technician, I'm reviewing this product based on my many years of experience in the field using high quality tools. This strut spreader is a tool that will get used on the vehicles that the front struts fit into the steering knuckle with a pinch bolt. Instead of fighting the strut out of the knuckle, this tool will spread the pinch area of the steering knuckle and release the struct for easy replacement. Tool doesn't feel or give the impression that it is high quality. No instructions come with the tool. No safety precautions came with the tool, which is important for the novice user. Price point is reasonable considering how much easier the job will be with this tool.

great tool when one needs to spread two pieces apart
Compact yet useful tool when it can be placed between two metal items that need to be separated. No longer will one only rely on crow bars or screw drivers which aren't ideal. There is a limited range of the tool and some space is required for this tool to be effective. As the tool description claims, this tool is perfect to spread struts although i used it to detach the strut from the suspension knuckle. It seems very strong and had enough opening to pop the parts free.

Didn’t last.
Used it cautiously knowing it’s not high quality and it broke.

Didn’t work for me
Teeth were too thick to fit in the first car I tried it on , then broke on the second one before spreading enough to remove strut . Good idea , but just not rugged enough.

Does what it should, tips are a bit thick
This device is very handy to have when doing automotive work on suspension in particular. This will help to widen the gap for various parts on the car. I did find the tips to be a bit wide so you will need a good size gap in order to get this inserted bit once there it will do a great job to increase the gap. I would recommend to use anti seize on the threads to avoid any issues when apply a lot of force.

Works great.
I needed to change a wheel bearing in a Ford Fusion. As it's a press in bearing, the steering knuckle had to be removed. I'm in the northeast salt/rust belt so I saw a challenge coming. This thing worked like a charm, the knuckle slid right off the strut, no pounding, no swearing. I didn't have to put very much pressure on the bolt and it stayed in place during bearing removal/installation. Definitely a must have tool if you do any sort of work like that.
