The display is pretty small, I went with a larger analog gauge with an hour meter instead.

My year 2000 Malibu Response LX skiboat had a bad tachometer gauge (special digital input wires) and replacements are no longer available. This ELING 2" diameter analog-input Gauge fits into a spare dashboard hole and works well once it is wired correctly and calibrated. Wiring for boats involved connecting: Gauge Red 12V wire to Boat Purple/White Harness wire, Blue GND wire to Boat Black, Orange Backlite wire to Boat DarkBlue, and Black TachSignal Wire to a wire connected to the boat Alternator "AC" Terminal. Note, If a Tach Sensor and wire are not available on your boat; the the Boat Harness "IGNITION Coil" Gray wire may also work as the tach signal source but the meter reading in my setup was unstable. Calibration requires adjusting the "speed ratio" via the black rubber button on the back. My setup required a speed ratio setting of 16 to provide the correct RPM at cruise throttle (3690RPM at 36MPH).After several weeks of use, I noticed that the Hour-Meter runs about 10% slow.

Installed per instructions. Powers on OK then started the vehicle all display characters came on. Looks like the tach is being overloaded. Restarted vehicle tach looked OK as soon as I hooked it to the Neg side of coil the display shows all the characters and does nothing. Its on the way back to Amazon. Not sure if I got a defective unit. Wish someone from tech support would contact me.

Es Un poco lento al leer los rpms pero, si trabaja bien, muy facil de instalar.

I installed this on a tractor and it doesn’t work. I had two mechanics work on it with the instructions and neither could get it to work. DO NOT BUY!
