This accessory is an absolute must for a Drive wheelchair. It installs easily, and provides the security we need when taking my father-in-law out in the neighborhood. Before purchasing this, I was concerned for every bump in the sidewalk. Now, we get out and about with confidence.

This belt is made extremely well -- strong fabric, solid buckle and excellent quality throughout. The belt is very long, so it will fit a variety of users. The Belt buckle is the standard 'button and clip' type buckle users would be familiar with from cars, planes and the like. Undoing the buckle is an easy press of a single button, making getting out of the chair easy. You can't go wrong with this one.

Added the seatbelt to a Medline Reclining Wheelchair that did not come with a seatbelt. The seatbelt is attached by putting the grommet under the rear screw of the wheelchair seat. This position and style worked for us. We compared this seatbelt to others that use different attachment methods (our wheelchair does have screws for the seat and does not have alternate seatbelt attachment points). Also, we preferred seat attachment for positioning rather than the back of the wheelchair which is another alternative. The 45" seatbelt is plenty long for an 18" wide seat, going over a Comfort brand saddle cushion, and around a 130 pound patient.

when you buy this from the healthcare equipment store, it's double the price of online amount. it works well, easy to install too.

I need extra additional trunk stability when I drive my van so I use a chest strap. Part of my strap was missing when my chair was returned to me after an airline flight. Rather than go through a wheelchair vendor and pay a huge amount of money for a chest strap I made one myself. When I ordered this I figured that I was getting the Velcro closure because that's what showed when I clicked on the picture, and that's the one that I wanted. Of course, I got the one with the seatbelt buckle closure. The material of the straps isn't as sturdy as I would like it and the buckle doesn't make much of a "click" when I close it (so you really need to make sure it's secured) but I decided to make it work. I purchased two one and a half inch (1 and 1/2 inch) rings, cut off the ends with the screw eyelets, looped an end through each ring, and sewed them securely. The rings then go on each wheelchair push handle and you buckle the strap around your chest. You can find the rings at amazon.com, hardware stores, and/or big home improvement stores.

Grommets will not attach to my husbands wheelchair, and the seller will not do a return for me so I can get one that will fit.....NO RETURNS, this is the ONLY SELLER I have done business with that will not do a return for me, so I can select ONE THAT WILL WORK FOR ME. Out cost of item!!!!!!
