If you connect 10 receivers to 1 transmitter you would get 10 of the same channel. The channels connect the transmitter to the receiver.

Can this be used for home/studio silent practice?

Not sure but would assume as long as you can plug the transmitter into your sound source using the 1/4 “ or the xlr connection you should be ok We use it at our church for our praise team and works great We plug it into back of our sound board

My gigs are longer than 5 hours can I charge them when during that time if the battery goes low?

Yes, but you would need a different cable than what is supplied to charge both. It comes with a cable to charge both, but the tether is short.
