Great soundbar with HDMI (ARC)
I purchased a Samsung 58" 4K tv several weeks ago and did not like the sound bouncing off the wall . This TV did have a HDMI( ARC) designated slot and the newly released Toshiba also offered A HDMI( ARC) connection. I purchased a premium HDMI cable for 4k Ultra HD from Walmart ($13) and the set up was simple and remarkable. My ATT Direct TV remote control works with both and was auto connected. I can now hear the sound crisply at low volumes and love the remote wireless bass speaker. The soundbar speaker volume is far more powerful than needed for my living room application and looks great underneath the TV. Few, if any soundbars in this price range even offer a HDMI connection. You simply can't beat this price from Amazon and it ships FREE!. I am not Audio savy but I think this is one great product.

Has HDMI ARC and sounds good
It sounds pretty good. My only comparison is the 50" TV speakers and a Samsung 300 watt 2.1 soundbar. Compared to the TV speakers this is very nice and adds much bass. It provides good sound for voice but also sounds good for music videos up to a fairly loud volume (but is no replacement for large sub displacement). Compared to the other soundbar with 5 times more power and double size woofer - this one does not have as much bass thump but is really not bad considering the size or price. I'd say this Toshiba system is good for up to a 12 x 12 room, you might want more power in a primary living room system though. Best Connection to your TV: HDMI ARC. This is the best feature of this speaker system and makes it a good value because of it. When connected this way you can use your tv remote to control the soundbar on/off and volume. Requires your TV have an HDMI ARC port - look for writing next to one hdmi plug on your TV - it will say HDMI ARC if it has it. It could be any one of them. You have to plug it into that port and also go into the menu of your TV and enable that feature. It may be called something else in the menu text and in the manual, like with my Insignia TV its called something else (I don't remember what but it was not obvious to me without an online search). Optical Connection: Second Best. I think you have to use the remote that came with the soundbar to control the on/off and volume if you use this connection method. Personally, having to use multiple remotes is not something I want at all. Pros: Sounds pretty good for its size. Works nice with HDMI ARC. It does have on/off, volume and input selector buttons on it you can use if you have to. No other functions on it though. Cons: my other soundbar, at double the price, has a gain and other fine tune controls, this does not. You can't even adjust bass and treble - only 3 automatic modes based on input source or manually changed via its remote only. It sounds pretty good equalized as-is though. Another con is you have to use the remote only to pair bluetooth devices - if no remote, then no pairing. I have not used the remote at all since I am only using the hdmi arc feature. It is one of those very thin, credit card sized remotes that is probably very delicate, btw. Here's a weird thing that happened with my HDMI ARC connection. When I changed the default speaker on my Dell laptop to its own speaker (to turn it back on after having the sound go through the HDMI out), it shut off the HDMI ARC in my Insignia TV's menu and I had to go back in and enable it again before the soundbar would work again. Not an issue with this Toshiba system but if your speaker suddenly stops working one day - check your TV menu to see if it got changed somehow before you assume its the speaker system gone bad.

Great price and decent quality

Poor sound quality
Very disappointed. Sound quality is very subpar. No ability to fine tune the equalization. Only option available are the presets of News, Movie and Music. Regardless of selection, it produces way too much treble (highs) and not enough lows (bass) to balance out the sound. Tested it with various movies known for things like explosions, commentary, gunfire etc and the effect you would expect to hear and feel is less than that of a 5 dollar speaker. Integration with a Toshiba television fails as well. The sound bar will not adjust to the output surround sound settings supplied by the movies. Very poor purchase decision on my part.

Works perfect, and glad it has HDMI arc
Speaker quality is much better than what my TV has, and the subwoofer is great and adds a lot to the range of sound. I am connecting to HDMI arc from TV, and the kids don't have to mess with 2 remotes as the TV remote controls the soundbar volume. I LOVE this feature. I also needed a soundbar less than 35", which is surprisingly hard to find with HDMI arc. This fits perfect.

Great for the money
Looks great. Bass is beyond expected. Buttons are responsive. Bluetooth doesn’t disconnect. Highs could be better but as expected for under $150. Played YouTube Bass enhanced music and the woofer had no problem. I returned two other Sony soundbars for this one and am happy I did.

I invested in a soundbar because my old 4.1 surround sound system that connects with speaker wire to my amp was getting long in the tooth. I decided to buy this one and it is not that great. You need a dedicated remote for this and although I have a TV with ARC, it was a bitch to setup and get working with my Apple TV, Telus 4k settopbox and my Sony 900F. The sound quality isn't that great. I would recommend to buy a better Soundbar with Dolby Atmos.
