I Love These Headphones
I Love These Headphones. They are soft and feel good quality. They fit well in my ears.

I hate change, but...
UPDATE: 9 months later... no problem issues. No cracks, ear pads haven’t peeled. Speaker break-in has started to deliver more low end bass. I’ve got to admit, I’m surprised! Still hangin the 5-stars on em! UPDATE: 3 months in. Used 6 days/week, 8 hrs/day, on & off my head - No cracks on housing, anywhere. No pleather peeling. Jack/cable internal solders all holding up. Just got the HDJ-X7's today. I'm a radio DJ & have exclusively used the Pioneer HDJ-1500's since they came out in 2012... The X7's have a “different“ emcee monitor sound vs. 1500's. They’re clean in sound w/ a dramatically crisp audio punch, without any over-the-top forced low-end bass. Don’t get me wrong, the low-end bass is PLENTY strong with their new configuration on these. Seems as the mids range (voice-over) are toned down a bit on these. They truly sit OVER the ear vs. 1500's on-ear, which is likely what makes the bass hits naturally deeper. (Full over ear design could also be main reason mid-range hZ seem dialed back.) Still, these have a better overall sound quality than the 3 pairs of Beats studios, pair of AKG K702's, Sony MDR7506's & Sennheiser HD25's that are occupying my bottom desk drawer, have - Hands down! Construction: Gave the 4-star for “material” seeing that I just in-boxed & used for the first time. So I’m still cautiously-optimistic on the fence. — The HDJ-1500’s were a step up in construction/material to their HDJ-1000 predecessor. All in all: 5 sets of 1000’s in 4 years + 4 sets of 1500’s in 8 years... Seems as though construction has become better with each model release. Daily work-use can be tough. Time will tell & updates will be written! Parts: Having replaceable ear pads & cords are a HUGE plus! ...specially ‘cuz nobody likes duct-taped headphones or peel-y black PU “dandruff” gunk on your ears/face/clothes!

Not the best but very good
So I have used many DJ headphones in the last 15 years. For the money first off these are very good quality with very good sound quality. If you are an audio enthusiast these might leave you wanting a little more but if you’re looking for something that has good sound recreation and can get pretty loud for those situations you need to be able to hear what’s going on in your headphones these are really nice. I have larger ears and find that mini headphones cause me discomfort after about 25 minutes these however have not given me any issues even up to a couple of hours. These headphones are slightly bass heavy but not overly done all in all the sound comes through pretty flat. I DJ mostly EDM and old-school hip-hop and these are definitely doing well for me. As I stated these are not your flagship top-of-the-line models and they could have a few improvements. All in all I would say these are a solid bargain for the money if you’re looking for something for at home use or something that can still be taken to the club or a party and they used with confidence.

VERY indecisive buyer but VERY HAPPY
I started DJ'ing in 2010 but I used the same pair of Pioneer HDJ 500 for about 12-13 years. The headband broke on one side and I gorilla taped it. The other side broke and I taped it. I used them this way for 2 or 3 years, never being sure what to replace them with since the 500's were no longer in production and I couldn't find them anywhere online still new in box. I purchased several other headphones but was never happy with the fit or sound. I watched countless YouTube reviews about many headphones including these but was never really sure. I FINALLY decided to pull the trigger and try these. I have to say I am very happy with them. The sound is very similar to the HDJ 500 in my opinion, which is exactly what I hoped for. While they do fit a bit differently, it's not uncomfortable at all. I have noticed that sometimes I tend to get a bit sweatier around the ear cups with these but that's not a huge issue. I have used these now for four months and overall I am very satisfied I finally bought these.

Great set of headphones. Better than the X10s!
I bought the X10s first and was disappointed. My buddy suggested X7s and I was apprehensive. But they're great! Love these! I have also owned the Odio headphones. They are really pretty good too, just lighter and less premium feeling as these X7s. They shook around on my head more and I could hear more outside sounds through them. The X7s are more insulated from outside distractions. I DJ.

The Sound is fantastic
I do a lot of music editing and I find that the sound is very accurate the mids, bass and high tones are spot on. I did a lot of research and after reading various articles on headphones, these are much, mush stronger build than regular headphones and you can still hear your stereo sound as it feels as if it is a surround sound headphone. I will be honest and say, however, these are not for the occasional audiophile as they might not enjoy these because sound only comes from 1 earcup as the left one is used for mixing audio tracks.

Great Headphones
My last pair of headphones were very uncomfortable. I use the to DJ and they are super comfortable on and around my neck. Great sound.

Top Kopfhörer Macht ordentlich Druck. Die Polster sind angenehm weich. Der Sound ist Mega ich weiß nicht ob sich die 100,-€ mehr zum x10 lohnen.

Finally. I got these for (suspenseful drum roll) DJ use. Open format style, I don't shy away from any genres but only play flac files and come from a bit of a snobby home hifi audiophile background. My monitors are Dynaudio LYD-48. Has to be balanced, present, good imaging, and accurate. Coming from the OG Technics RPDJ 1200 cans from back in the day, went on a mission based on the current popularity trends, looking at what pro djs are using and doing some youtube reviewing. Money wasn't really an object as decent cans in this category really only have a $300 price range between them. HD-25 - light, good sound, horribly uncomfortable and cheap feeling (I know they're tough, but they're a 25 year old design). Tried the HD-25 Plus thinking they'd somehow be better, nope exactly the same but way more expensive. Went all-in on the Pioneer HDJ X10 expecting them to be the ultimate DJ headphone on the planet as their price indicates - nope, sounded like lifeless garbage - (where's the bass???). Back to Technics with the newer EAH-DJ1200. Absolutely superb sounding cans with great SPL and cool style (Mochakk rocks these ones) but the ear swivel lock on two pairs both don't hold in the position you want them in, which is annoying. Sold them off. Hmmm V-Moda M-100 Master sounds like they've put the work in to make their sound better - tried them. Really nice build quality, nice customization options, decent comfort (but made for small ears) - and extremely bloated bass. I was super disappointed as I spent extra on the coiled cable, and was about to have to buy the XL ear pads too (which would make them the same price as the HDJ X10). Still with me? Just buy these HDJ-X7. I don't know what the engineers were smoking when they put the immense price tag on the X10, when the X7 are literally perfection. Sound is pretty much as good as my Beyerdynamic 700 Pro X studio headphones. Initial build quality seems impressive - time will tell. Only gripe - wish they came with a case but I'm sure there are aftermarket models.

Coming from an intermediate level DJ, these headphones are fantastic. Plays an even sound and doesn't distort at high volumes. The bass is not to loud like beats where you cant hear the rest of the track that is playing. Very high quality build that will last a long time.
