Sneakers

This book is just so COOL. Bought it for my husband and ended up getting totally drawn into it myself. It is gorgeous. But also, it was so interesting to read about how all these various iconic shoes came to be, and why people are so obsessed with them, from a very unexpected cast of characters (NIKE designers, retailers, artists, Serena Williams). So much passion in this book. It actually made me want to go buy sneakers!!

I had been waiting for my copy of Sneakers since I pre-ordered it in back in May. The hard copy book did not disappoint. Not only are the pictures stunning, but the reporting is facinating, and reads like a novel you stay up all night to finish. This is much more than a beautiful coffee table book, it’s the pinnacle to any collection.

This book is a good read overall. It's essentially a bunch of interviews with folks who have influenced sneaker culture over the years. I enjoyed reading this one a lot. The hardback quality is also quite good and the art is nice as well.

I bought this for my 14-yeqr-old godson to encourage him to read. It’s filled with images and art, plus has great interviews. The moment I gave it to him he started reading. I think he read almost the whole thing. Today he took it to school to show his friends. Success!”

Pages are thin and not printed very well. But I can’t complain much thanks to the price. I needed some more affordable coffee table / shelving books. This one looks good and it’s fun to read.

That cursive writing on the bind is confirmed to be a part of the cover art. Didn’t know this until searching for more photos on both authors social media pages. It looks like someone scribbled on the book with a sharpie, but really it is part of the design and it reads “Sneakers”

LOVE this! Makes a perfect coffee table book but also has some seriously cool information inside. The quality of the book is fantastic and so is the design. If you love sneakers as much as I do, get this book! You'll learn something new.

Gift for a sneakerhead was very well received

Llego en buen estado, me gustaría que las letras en este tipo de libros fuera un poco más grande. Si la vista se te cansa rápido tenlo en cuenta ya que las letras son un tanto pequeñas.

I hoped that it would be a book for those with a passion for old school trainers. Instead, It reads like a glossy issue of Vogue written by those with an eye more concerned with functionless fashion. I wanted it to be like wearing a pair of Jordan IIIs and getting subtle nods of acknowledgement from those who appreciate what it means to be a collector. It’s more akin to wearing a pair of Balenciagas and being stopped by an octogenarian, decked out head-to-toe in beige and brown, who asks, “How much did those grandpa Kmart shoes cost you. I’d like to get me some”. I wanted it to be good. So very good. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not all bad (the chapters on Bobbito, Bodecker and Tinker are well worth the read). But it’s nowhere near great. It coulda’ and shoulda’ been better. And ultimately, that’s the most disappointing part of all.

Sehr cooles Buch, das ein tolles Layout hat. Ich habe es als Geschenk für einen Sneakers-Fan gekauft und es ist super angekommen. Auch mir hat die Aufmachung, die Grafiken etc. super gefallen.
