Hooper Humperdink
When my youngest child was little she had a favorite book--Hooper Humperdink...? Not Him! We read it every night (sometimes more than once) without fail. She could not/would not go to sleep without hearing it. Every member of the family, including my older kids, knew it by heart. We thought we'd never forget it. But, alas, we did. For years we've all tried to remember not only snatches of the story...but the NAME of the book. We've talked about it parties, wondered over it at family gatherings and reminisced during holidays but no one could ever remember the name of the book. My daughter often became misty-eyed with melancholy over the issue. You see, she now has a child of her own wanted desperately to share with him her childhood memories. It took a while--lots of research, many sleepless night perusing online book sellers websites and a couple of hissy fits on my part--before I finally came across a book cover that looked familiar. A peek inside was all it took to know for sure I had finally found my daughter's book. I bought it immediately! It's all wrapped up and hidden away for to open on Christmas day. I'm very excited about this find--for sentimental reasons. But, also, because the book is precious. It's a cute story with a surprise ending. Your kids will love it as much as mine!

Cute story for early childhood
If you're trying to develop your child's hunger for reading, then you need fun, colorful books at sensible Lexile levels. This book offers all of them. It probably won't attract kids far beyond five years old, but it's a cute read.I still remember my mother reading the original release with the old illustrations thirty-five years later: especially the colorful pictures and that wildly unique name.

WHAT A CLASSIC!!!
I read this to my kids (now 33 and 29) and they used to love, love it! Such a catchy read, with a,b,c's !! Forget what all the ultra liberal reviewers say about it being a negative book that's not appropriate. It's a classic Seuss and a very fun read. I am now reading it to my 19 month old grandson and he LOVES it. Buy it and your kids will fall in love.

This book cleared all reasons to incude all children
I liked this book as it showed reasons 1 child should not be included, but later cleared up all children should be included. This book has been read to my children, their children and we shall include to introduce children to it.

A GREAT CHILDHOOD MEMORY
Every child gets left out and has their feelings hurt at some point. But Hooper Humperdink handles it well. I am especially fond of this book because a good friend used to ad lib in his funny southern way to make my kids laugh at the "straight razor toting" Hooper Humperdink. Now a grandfather, he ad libs as he reads it to his own grandchildren! Note: The "straight razor toting" description is only in the book when my friend reads it. Your copy of this Dr. Seuss story will have no weapons of any kind mentioned in it.

Favorite Book in Our House
Every night before our 2 year old twins go to bed, they get to pick three stories - one each and one together. This book is ALWAYS in the mix...to the point where they can recite it by heart now. Yet, I never get tired of reading it over and over again. We also love the artwork - counting the birds or helicopters, searching for Olivetta Oppenbeam and reviewing our alphabet on the next-to-last page. Last night, one of my kids said "I'm going to have a party and I'm going to invite Hooper Humperdink too!"
