This is a quality, interesting little gadget that I wish I knew how to operate. It's not really supposed to be for navigation, and I have a GPS and a "Maps" feature on my cell phone for that, but I'd still like to know how it works. I wish the seller had included some kind of instructions and maybe even a history of this kind of navigational aide.

My grandson has the mind of an engineer and loves tools and gadgets. This was a hit with him! So hard to buy for a boy genius, but this was a winner!

It moves and it's pretty, but it is just a model, not a functioning sextant

It is a just model. It does not functional. The numbers on the ruler is opposite so it is hard to read. The filters for the move mirror have position problem so they don’t filter the sunlight. The build quality is not good enough so I could not use it for decoration as well. It came with a very simple package. No manufacture name, no “made in”, nothing. (Even no piece of paper)

If you need to adjust the mirrors and eyepiece a tiny bit for optimal results it’s very easy all you need is a small screwdriver.

I have started a small collections of nautical items and this was perfect in size. I am building a Barrister case to display my items and did not want to have real large items taking up too much space. Shipping was fast and I would definitely use Replicate again!

I bought this for a bother that is impossible to buy for!! He loved it!
