This unit works very well if installed properly. I have now enclosed the sending unit-detector in a Sterilite clear bin with a cut-out window as in the picture shown here. Whenever the mailman or delivery people approach the house the chime alerts us to the presence of someone near the house. The distance to the unit is over 60 feet! Also, the seller contacted us quickly when we had questions. I think this is a five-star unit and third-party company. I really want to emphasize that the vendor is solid, responsive and you should be aware of intermittent sunlight shining on the unit if outdoors.It has been outdoors for over a year and the batteries last 8 months. My total cost for the installation is under $35 and we are very pleased. I bought another for our backyard and as ainstalled they tolerate the weather extremes of New England.UPDATE: Three years and counting! Can you believe it? The $20 IR sensor and receiver still work perfectly in New England very harsh weather. It tells us when the postman, Amazon Fresh or newspaper deliverer have arrived, are in the driveway. I was totally shocked to see how it's endured unbelievably. I change the batteries every six months and it's still going strong. Wow. Best buy!

If anything it was and is too sensitive, had to move to a better part of the room to have less false alarms. Now works as planned. Original area was at edge of a large window. Sun shadows seemed to be triggering movement. After moving item to a remote corner and having it aimed correctly now makes it what was planned as a warning of customer in store.

This thing is so sensitive the wind set it off. Not for me. Unfortunately I waited too long to install it so I can't return it.

Remember the little puppy I'm trying to potty train and I'm having to leave the back door slightly open so she can come in and out?Was NOT a good idea cause I also invite all the flies from the backyard.Puppy won't bark when she wants out ... but she will sit by the back door UNTIL her patience runs out (usually within 3 mins) and then ...aaargh!This unit is my life errr "Rug and Floor" saver because I have it installed by the back door. So now when she goes to the back door, the thing rings!Home security and or doorbell ..?? Well how about a puppy dump alert system! It works quite well if you arrange the sensor right!

works well. Range is "pretty good" But be warned, EVERYTHING seems to set this off. Cats, squirrels, deer.......the WIND. My family keeps unplugging it. kept going off in the middle of the night with nothing there. I trimmed some limbs around it so hopefully the wind wouldn't set it off. Helped a little.

I got this to use on my front door. My door bell works but I can’t hear it when I’m in the garage or a back bedroom. This one has a low/loud assortment of alerts. I use the “ding dong” alert. I added a simple on/off switch (available on Amazon) to turn the bell off when I’m working out front and don't want the bell driving anyone in the house nuts. This one fits the bill exactly as I need.

It works well. I have attached this to my sideway entrance to my house which is rarely used and have the receiver in my bedroom which is almost 75 feet away. During my test, it alerts every time I open the gate. It's a very simple unit and I was able to set it up in no time. I do like the ball mount on the sensing device that allows me to adjust the direction easily without a screwdriver. Highly recommended!

This works as it's supposed to, and has a good range. I use it indoors so I know nothing of it's abilities or durability in less than an ideal environment. There is a ridiculous number of chime choices, and 4 volumes levels. The only flaw I have found is that it seemed to revert to melody 1 when there was a power interruption.
