Good value bait caster. The drag seems pretty smooth and consistent. I have it paired to a Diawa 7’ medium fast action rod and it’s casts well with 15lb braid. I’ve caught largemouth bass and saltwater fish like trout and redfish on it. Definitely worth the money but not a super high end real either. I’m happy with mine

Not bad for the price. I get 2 seasons from these reels and I fish bass alot. Lots of cast. Gear will strip in time but its not pfofessional grade but will get you a few seasons.

I bought this to do review and comparison along side a sougayilang BS8000 8.1:1 gear ratio baitcaster and Kastking by far exceed my expectations! The quality fit and finish of the Brutus is insane for the price! If your looking for a baitcaster and your not an experienced baitcaster angler and want something cheap but good quality then look no further than the Kastking Brutus! The brakes are phenomenal for the price point it has brass gearing and the casting and retrieving with this reel is super smooth and quite. Absolutely Worth the money and being a 7.2:1 gear ratio it's a great all around reel. You can use it for pretty much anything!

Worked great for a few months. Starting catching really bad on the line. Overall it's great for the price and definitely a good first baitcaster. Perfect for getting into baitcasting.
