Arrived in a large box that was easy to open
This bag is huge! Arrived in a large box that was easy to open. Inside the box the bag was inside a polythene bag. I use this trolley bag to carry kit for the band I play in, guitar leads, microphone leads etc, The retractable handle is a godsend because with all the leads stowed in the bag it is too heavy to carry! As for the bag itself it is made from a strong canvas and is 'top opening' with a 'zipped flap' as opposed to the usual 'clam type' opening. Attached to the flap are some thin elastic 'straps' that are not very substantial and I haven't figured out a use for them yet. The base is a hardwearing composite material that keeps the bag base waterproof when placed upon the ground. The side pockets all have Velcro fasteners - I don't use the pockets as they don't seem to be too secure. There are multiple 'open' pockets inside the bag and these I do use for small leads and connectors. On the down side whilst the handle is useful (essential in my case) it doesn't look very strong and I tend to hold the bag up vertically before extending the handle - I would have appreciated a couple of rubber pads on the other end of the bag so that the bag could be left standing upright - as it is the bag must be laid flat in which case, if the bag is fully loaded with heavy kit, you have to be careful that you do not permit the retractable handle to carry the full load whilst lowering the bag to the floor. If you are after a large bag and can live with the blue colour this is a very versatile bag and might just be the bag you are looking for!

Decent big bag.
The big bag managed to fit about 10 tools inside, and the pockets on the outside are large enough to accommodate the LXT batteries. I managed to get 4 in just the two side pockets. The material is good, and the stitching looks decent in places. The wheels and the handle are a bonus. UK Planet Tools, which I've purchased from before, is always excellent; it came within 2 days.

I originally had this bag for a good 16 months and was very happy with it
I originally had this bag for a good 16 months and was very happy with it. First off Makita well done the straps, zips and general build quality are excellent and have never failed on me although I am careful. I overload this bag on a regular basis and quite honestly abuse the hell out of it in a dragging sense. it hates cobbles, rough site half made roads and eventually this will rip the bags outer pockets and when you finally trip over it and snap the hollow steel handle and you will be sad.As someone who has had a lot of bags this one is good and worth the money just don't think it is indestructible, it is not a tank. This is the only work bag I ever rebought

Very high quality at a ridiculously low price.
Nicely padded, well built and very well designed. Can carry a vast number of power tools with a charger and quite a few batteries, all held in their own pockets inside with an extending handle under a zipped cover and bungees on the top. There are also pockets on the outside for note books or bits and Bob's all rolling on two strong wheels. It doesn't need to be just for tools, it would be just as good as a weekend bag.

Not bad for a fiver.
I've had this bag for about 4 weeks Used on a building site, and in and out of a van. Job-Electrician. I bought this bag to keep my drills and various other bits and pieces in. Nice looking bag, big enough to store- Small 36V SDS drill, 2 spare batteries+ charger, 2x 10.8V Bosch drivers+ charger, 18V pistol drill, spare battery and charger, laser level and bracket, 6 rolls of insulation tape, stocks and dies, and a few other bits and pieces. Pros- nice looking bag, plenty of space, pull out handle and wheels, a few external pockets. Cons- external pockets are a bit small, internal pockets don't work too well, things tending to fall out of them, thin material, poor stitching, weak zips. The elasticated strings on top of the bag are almost useless. The opening of the main bag isn't quite big enough, this coupled with the fact that the sides of the bag are a bit 'floppy' means that it isn't that easy to see all of the contents of the bag. This bag is ok for 30 quid, if it lasts a couple of years I'll be happy, and would buy another one for the same money. Unfortunately, I'm not sure it will last the year out. If you were only using it to transport your drills from the van to site, and back again at the end of the day, it will probably last well, but I use mine more like a mobile tool chest, using it all day. If you compare this bag to an older 'Red and Black' Makita bag, the differences are enormous. The old bag is made of very thick material, with tough stitching and rivets on the stress points. This bag is much thinner, the stitching 'gives' if you pull it apart, the inside pockets look like they (or the stitching) will rip, and the zip is a bit flimsy (mine didn't open properly from new). This review sounds a bit negative, but to be honest, it is a nice bag, its just a shame that it isn't a bit tougher. If they made this bag to last 10 years, I'd happily pay twice the price. I'll try and update this when I've had it a while. Update (15-7-13). Stopped using this bag on site about 3 weeks after my original review, and instead use it to keep my drills and bits and pieces in my garage, as well as the occasional weekend job. Got the bag out yesterday, filled it with a few tools, tried to do the zip up, and it completely came away from the rest of the bag. Upon closer inspection, the zip is only single stitched to the bag, and you can pull it away with only a finger and thumb( I stopped after an inch and a half). The bag has been used about 3 times in the past six months, and the zip probably once. I'm going to try to return it tomorrow, I'll see what the customer service is like. Update 2.(18-2-14) This bag is absolute junk. I managed to get a replacement after a lot of arguing (I won't mention where I bought it from). Now using the bag everyday as a site bag after deciding that I may as well use it until it falls apart, which won't be long. After three days on site one of the zipper pulls has come off, and I've managed to break one of the wheels. If you're desperate for a bag and don't mind it lasting a couple of weeks, it might be worth buying, for anything else I'd go down tescos and get yourself a bag for life.
