German Hanomag Sd.Kfz.251/1 Military 1:35 Plastic Model Assembly Kit

This was my first model kit in around 30 years and I chose it because it's a good all round kit in that you get the exterior to work with re armour, the interior to weather/wear and also 5 figures to practice on. The kit goes together fairly well although I did have a couple of minor fit issues with the hull but the level of detail is most acceptable for a kit which is so cheap to buy. The instructions are very clear and I was only left slightly pondering on a couple of parts but got there in the end Again with the figures it would have been nice for the detail to be slightly more defined to make painting easier and not to have as many seams from the moulding process to remove but I'll go back to my former point that for £12 for the whole kit it's not really fair to complain. Maybe not the easiest kit to start on with the interior and figures to contend with but if you want to throw yourself into military modelling it's fantastic value and a great kit

The build of this kit will get a 10 out of 10 from me, easy to assemble and plenty of detail. The only thing that's done my head in is I've bought 2 kits and they had some of the decals missing, the decals that had been cut out of BOTH kits were the swastikas, I can only imagine this is so it doesn't offend anyone, but when your building for authentic then these swastika decals are crucial. I've actually built a couple of this kit last year and the swastika decals hadn't been removed and I wasn't offended, I'm not a snowflake. Anyway besides the missing decals its actually a awesome kit.

Ok the kit in its self is ok no problems with flash or fit you get 5 figures if you want them, or save some for more kits my only complaint is the pc lot have got involved and cut out the Africa cor transfer out so if you did this kit it’s missing, it about time people left history alone it’s history for a reason and never to be repeated, and it’s not like you can’t get hold of the replacement transfer it just cost you more money, after all it’s just a model but I won’t a true rep

Classic kit at bargain price. Easy to build kit with enough detail to make interesting. Comes with 5 figures (only 2 shown in photos). One minor point: figures come with good uniform detail, plenty of kit and helmet decals but the face detail is less defined than ideal. Cant moan for the money and when added to a battlefield diarama towing a small gun should look good.

Back as a teen (all those ages and ages ago) I always wanted this kit but never got around to getting it. Three decades later I picked up the hobby again after having my Achilles Tendon surgically reattached to my heel (long story). This one one of the first kits I bought though one I didn't get around to building right away. I should have! It's a quality kit that really is fun to build. It's not as simple a kit as you might think but not so challenging as to become overwhelming. It assembles relatively easily (as long as you don't misread the instructions and assemble the wheels improperly - lost a good day trying to figure THAT one out, lol), and the kit looks great along side the newer, more detailed kits of today. It's almost hard to believe it's been around as long as it has. When assembled properly the front wheels roll and turn side to side as if being steered, and the tracks roll on the wheels a little which I find is a neat little addition. It allowed me to create track marks in the "mud" VERY easily! My only criticism - and it's simply me being picky, is I would have liked the option of adding a driver. The soldiers provided are great (I think they're a subset of the German Assault Troops kit made by Tamiya), but a driver would have offered some options other than deploying for battle. Having said that, I found a kit on here from Dragon that has 4 figures including a gunner, driver, assistant driver, and fellow with binocs specifically designed for a halftrack like this one! A FABULOUS addition to the soldiers already provided! Whether you're an old hand at military modeling or just getting started you can't go wrong by having this kit in your collection if it isn't already. Even if it IS, can you REALLY have TOO MANY halftracks??

Modelo muy sencillo, con pocas piezas, pero de buen encaje, aunque pocos detalles. Se monta en dos tardes, una para el vehículo y otra para el pelotón de panzergrenadiers que le acompaña. Interesante como primera maqueta o como base o complemento para dioramas. Es también la típica maqueta barata que te sirve para experimentar pinturas y acabados que igual no te atreverías con modelos mas caros o complejos. Como es habitual en Tamiya, calcas censuradas, así que nos olvidamos del Afrika korps.

First of all, this is not a toy. It is a 1:35 scale model. It requires a lot of patience and hardwork. Don't buy it, if you are looking for a toy, because it's not. Quality is very good and fits perfectly.
