Long time fan of Winsor & Newton
I have been an artist all my life and I have used Winsor & Newton paints forever. Many watercolor projects for home and college senior thesis or simple small pocket sketching, it doesn't matter. W & N for this small size are wonderful for taking anywhere. The Colors are vibrant or easy to pale with water, no graininess whether rainbow colors or metallics. The quick convenient brush is well protected and all around quality. Use 'em with joy!

Nice payout
Pros:The case is a very nice and well made hard plastic case to protect the inside.Color payout is nice with minimal effortNice basic paletteComes with a sample of watercolor postcardsCons:Size of individual pans are small - see photosI like this palette for the price. Yes, the pans are smaller than I expected, but overall the payout makes up for the size. It comes with a water brush that can be filled and reused which is what I used on the postcard to test out the Rose color. I cannot wait to try out the other colors.Would I buy this again? Yes and maybe a tube if I really like a certain color; or perhaps a different color palette.This review is mine and I was not paid, nor given any discounts, or anything else for my honest review.

Highest Quality, shimmery “metallic” watercolors
As a beginner at watercolor, this collection of gentle metallic paints provided a huge boost to my unskilled efforts. The colors go so well with each other. Even if you have no other paint, you can go far with the 8 colors they’ve included in this box. They practically melt into each other, and have a shimmer that is gorgeous. A travel-sized small brush is also included, which has a cover to protect the tip. Get some good paper and a couple of larger brushes, and you can do so much. I will buy my watercolor paint from Windsor & Newton from now on. It is also an excellent value.

Color not as strong as I expected
Colors are beautiful but fade out in application. Applied multiple times to get the intensity right. The metallic is seen when picture is moving. No very obvious straight on.

Windsor Newton’s watercolors have never let me down and these are no exception. They always flow beautifully and are priced fairly.Clearly made with excellence of quality in mind, the pigments used offer superior vibrancy that last for years! I highly recommend ALL Windsor Newton’s painting materials. If you’re into multi-medium art, then try the acrylics, oils, and inks as well! There’re all SO GOOD!

Smooth
I am impressed by how smooth these paints are. These are my first Windsor Newton and I will gradually replace my tubes with this brand in the future.
