RC80i 2-Way In-Ceiling/In-Wall Speakers (Pair, White)

I bought a 6.5” set of these for our bathroom about 4 years ago and have loved them ever since. The vocal clarity is superb and bass excellent. Great power too. It is only a Sonos amp that runs them but they are loud when you need them to be and zero distortion all the way up to the top. I’ve since replaced a set of speakers in a bedroom with the 8” version and they are fantastic speakers too. I would not hesitate to recommend these and in time, I’ll be buying another couple of sets for 2 other rooms . The video does not do them full justice as the phones mic can’t capture the sound properly but at least it’ll give you an idea👌🏻 Love them!!

These sound great! Very good bass response. Easy to fit. Also easy to pop back out to adjust if you need to.

Amazingly good speakers. I have two sets hooked up to the new Sonos amp. Easy to install in a new build and v v easily fill a room 6 m x 6 m. Considerably cheaper than the Sonos ceiling speakers, although Polk of course lack the room sound tailoring that Sonos provide.

It’s tough trying to evaluate Atmos speakers when there is so much sound bouncing around the room from other speakers but that aside, I felt the overall soundstage was good. What I didn’t like was the useless plastic fittings meant to secure the speakers to the ceiling because turning the screws did not guarantee the plastic clips would rotate as they should, the screws were just spinning inside the clips. Working at height didn’t make things any easier, my arms were absolutely aching. I ended up having to wrap a thin layer of tissue paper around the end of each screw so they would grip the clips better. After a few failures I started to get the hang of it but I’d much rather I didn’t have to bother.

These speakers sound truly wonderful. I was anxious that they'd sound weak, or lack bass, but nothing of the sort. We now have 2 pairs in our kitchen, hooked up to a Sonos Amp Connect - and the sound is noticeably better than a pair of Q Acoustic bookshelf speakers in another room. They are reassuringly weighty, and we have them in firehoods. There's sound leakage above, but nothing too annoying.

Using these as Dolby Atmos height channels for my 5.1.2 home theatre. Wow, they sound great! I was looking at Klipsch ceiling speakers but couldn’t justify the cost given I want to upgrade other speakers in my system first. I wasn’t expecting too much from them but I have been pleasantly surprised! Sound is clear and precise. Definitely recommend these especially for Atmos set up. Will buy another two when I upgrade to 7.1.4. Ps. Roger Waters ‘Us and Them’ on Blu Ray with Atmos soundtrack blew me away.

I have tried these speakers with different amplifiers including Quad and the problem is that they are so toppy that the mid-ranges are swamped out. Or alternatively, the mid-ranges are weak. These speakers are OK for very close field listening directly in front of the speakers, but at any distance there is no softness, it is all crisp harsh sounds. The perception is a very clear crisp precise sound, but this is not a balanced, attractive or relaxing sound. It is hard to find a volume at which to listen comfortably at any distance, they are either too toppy or too quiet. This speakers are expensive, and non-returnable, and you will only find out how they really sound once they are installed, at which point it is too late. Very disappointing for the price.

Easy to install, great sound with plenty of bass and clear sound

There is a sparkling sound coming from one of the speakers when I play music. It has just been 2 months. Can you please help to replace the speaker?

This is an under rated speaker , it has good sound and tone , not tinny and descent bass and mid range , it all depends on the area that it is mounted into , insulation and other surrounding materials with impact on the sound quality! Also the grill covers can be adjusted without glue or silicone if you carefully bend out the area slightly that slots into the speaker itself, bend it ever so slightly in four or five spots ( outward) and slowly work the grill into the slot that holds the grill working it into place , this process snug fits the grill with falling out , simple and it works !

Yeah, you just can't beat these guys for the price and the sound. I use them as Atmos speakers in my home theater room. They sound great and almost disappear into a white ceiling. Super easy installation. The directional tweeters offer a nice level of sound adjustment you just won't get with a fixed tweeter. My room is on the smaller side, so I only needed a pair of them. Well worth the money. They would also work well as stand alone ceiling audio speakers.
