Just what I needed
Bought this corded phone for its call blocking and it works brilliantly. Unknown callers must announce their name before the phone rings, so I can accept or block easily. Robocalls have almost stopped. Easy setup, big clear buttons perfect for seniors, good speakerphone, crisp sound, and built in answering machine with plenty of space. Works during power cuts too. Solid reliable choice for a peaceful home line!

It is good and easy to use
It is good and easy to use. But it didn’t get 5 stars due to not very stable stand.

No more "dud" calls, peace at last
Well worth the money for blocking dud calls plus it's a nice phone. It's easy to set-up and does the job I bought it for, my elderly father in law now doesn't get any dud calls. Having read some reviews, some people think the phone should have everything done-n-dusted and the caller display free. Yes, that would be nice, but the £3.85 BT charges can be free if you pay up front call charges each month, and/or you are an elderly person on special rates with BT. If you read the instructions supplied, setting up is easy, although if you have a large phone book that can take time the same as on any new phone. Even if you have to pay the £3.85 caller display charge, that works out to 89p a week, and in my book, my time is a lot more valuable that that, yes! I too have a "Call Guardian" phone and I have a peaceful life because of it.

Fault with handset, after 18 months use - constant buzzing
As other reviewers have said, just wonder whether Amazon are doing their usual trick of allowing sellers of factory rejects to unload stock through this site, . . . .unwittingly, of course. Bought primarily for the call blocking capability due to the constant level of unsolicited nuisance and scam calls that BT allow to enter their system from parts foreign. Ok for first 18 months, then intermittment buzzing noise through the earpiece of the telephone all the time it is away from the base unit. Through trail-and-error testing I isolated the fault to the actual handset. I then swapped the handset with one from a earlier Decor 2200, and the buzzing fault went away. Connecting the Decor 2600 handset to a previously fault-free Decor 2200 base unit the buzzing fault re-occurred. So there is definately a fault in the Decor 2600 hand set. Whether this fault is indigenous to the Decor 2600 handset or has been provoked during connection by a fault in the Decor 2600 base unit, who knows . Only time will tell. If the real fault is in the Decor 2600 base unit then, I presume, over time it will cuse the replacement Decor 2200 handset to fail. I suspect the whistling/buzzing noise is a faulty capacitor in the handset. When I recall, that my original analogue BT phone, a model 746 that everybody had in the 1980s, lasted 20 years in perfect operation until I decided to go digital in the early noughties and since then Its been a tale of unparalleled disappointment with three different sets of kit (One wireless), that BT has procured, and I purchased as digital replacement for that 746 "Brick" in the following 20 years. Not only are the modern kit fault prone but they are short-lifed as well - absolute bl**dy c*rp. Shame on BT for appending their logo to such rubbish, and, in this case, shame on Amazon for allowing factory rejects to be peddled as new. This type of marketing needs penal sanction against.

BT Decor 2600 recommended purchase!
This is the second BT Decor 2600 l have purchased. The last one was 10 years ago. Love the Guardian on it checking calls and giving you the option to block. Good answering phone so you can always see who called and the message left. So easy to set up and the instructions are easy so all in all a really good buy. Hoping it lasts as long as the last one 🤞

Broke within a few months
I am afraid after my great review below I have to retract it. I had to throw the phone away today. In 15 years of the previous one (which did not require batteries) I never had a single fault. Yet this morning only a few months after buying this new one all kinds of things have gone wrong which are the phone not the line (as i tested with another phone). The calls were not sounding, there was then a continuous loud buzz etc etc. I gave up, brought the old one downstairs and have put this one in the bin. I did try removing the batteries and putting them back (they are not worn out) but that only made it work for 3 more minutes. I have concluded I need a landline which has NO batteries in it required so avoid these kinds of faults. The simpler the phone the better. I also missed two very important work calls this morning because of this defect. [Until it went wrong today this is what I wrote after purchase of it "Great phone which arrived very quickly. However you need 4 batteries. It did not come with them. I have just been out to buy them. The leaflet inside says batteries included on one page and then on the back has a sticker saying no batteries, buy your own. It is not a big issue however. It replaced at 12 - 15 year old phone I had from BT. The screen display is bigger and better (hence need to 4 batteries) The icons and numbers are easy to read and follow and better than on my older phone and it displays message with a light when a 1571 (BT answerphone - I subscribe to that BT service ) message is received or it should. I have just tried twice from another phone and yet to see the light come on but I will give it time. I just tried again - I have twice now clicked "On" and okay to ensure it shows the light when I have a call minder message but the light still does not go on to show message waiting. Web search does not help. I did not buy it for this feature and picking up the phone as with my old one tells me there is a message by the tone anyway but it is pity the light does not show. There aer 4 brand new batteries in there and other screen features are working so it is not a batter issue and I do pay for the call minder service and there is a message waiting there and the 1571 button you press to retrieve messages (which is a nice new feature which means pushing 1 button not dialing 4 digits) works fine. I would not let this put everyone off. IT is a decent phone and is likely to be the last land line I will ever buy I suspect (and will eventually go the way of my fax machine and line which I cut off only last year in 2016 after a very good long run - when I started work in the early 80s we were just getting the first fax machines and used telex) Date and time and ringing sound and length of ring (immediate, medium or long) easy to set. I used my exactly plug in wire (rather than the one it came with) as that was easier and it has worked ( and do not share this landline with broadband so no comments on that aspect)."
