So good
I am vegan and this vegan Italian "sausage" is so good. I use it plain and mixed with sauces and other vegetables. Makes a great hot "sausage" sandwich.

Tastes awful
Bought at my local store. It's so bad, ruined my meal. Barely edible. Also the packaging is super annoying to remove. 0/10 as a sausage. Maybe a 1/10 as a survival paste.

Tastes great and GMO & soy free
I've bought a few different brands of plant-based sausages and these are the best so far. The texture isn't exactly the same as meat, but that doesn't bother me. What I do like is that they're GMO free and soy free, unlike Impossible products that are based on genetically engineering soy (and God knows what else).

fantastic!
I have tried all three of the sausage flavors pictured -- the apple sage, Mexican Chipotle and Italian. I love them all. This company makes a good number of products; I've also tried the celebration roast and classic meat loaf and both are delicious. If you are looking for good meat substitutes, I encourage you to try the Field Roast brand. Of the three sausage flavors, my favorite is the apple sage, but I wouldn't hesitate to pick the other two if the apple sage was not available. The apple sage is great paired with mashed potatoes and corn. The Italian is good on a bun or tossed in with pasta. The Mexican Chipotle flavor is pretty spicy. When I use it, I cut it up into smaller pieces and serve it alongside corn bread and/or rice. I believe all three would be good for kabob recipes. In terms of availability, I live in a city that doesn't necessarily place a high priority on healthy eating and/or meat substitutes. These can be hard to find. When my local co-op carries them, however, four sausages are about $6 to $7. For the individual that is transitioning to a vegetarian or vegan diet, I think these products are a must. Just five years ago, meat substitutes were not that tasty. Flavor and options are essential when transitioning to a plant-based diet and this company truly provides some good options. I think these products are also a great way to introduce meat substitutes to other family members and/or friends that might eat meat. I've used these in dishes and have only received good responses. Of course, for those that have only eaten a plant-based diet for years, I think you will be happy and glad that manufacturers have made progress in the creation of meat substitutes that have flavor and a pleasant texture.

Delicious!
As someone who became vegetarian over 10 years ago and used to eat meat before that point I can honestly say these sausages are delicious and have a great texture. The flavor and texture is way beyond the meat substitute products from years ago and is actually very similar to the actual Italian sausages my grandma made when I was a kid. I usually just throw them on a bun with some curry ketchup and enjoy alongside a beer while pretending I'm in Germany or with a pasta dish like an Italian Sunday dinner. I'd highly recommend these to anyone seeking a meat-free alternative to sausage and anyone transitioning to a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle. I can't wait to incorporate them into my next jambalaya or lasagna recipe.

Hard to believe!
If I found out tomorrow that Field Roast was having us on and these were really made out of meat, I wouldn't be surprised. They're "meaty" and deliciously flavored. I like them butterflied and pan fried over low-medium heat in olive oil for 2 minutes per side with the cover on. They come out crispy on the outside and "juicy" on the inside. Their quarter loaves are also very good. Can't wait to try more from this company. Hopefully Amazon and others will start carrying Field Roast products soon.
