Just what I needed. All natural no harsh chemicals

If you’re expecting your conditioned idea of soap manufactured as a block for “cosmetic” purposes… then this will disappoint you… but if you uncondition your mind & approach this soap from a “beginner’s mind” perspective… as if you’ve never known soap before… then you will be impressed. I’ve suffered symptoms of eczema for decades & could never use any soap product. This is the 1st time I’ve used a soap product and that not only does it not dry out my skin… it does not cause any irritation either. With a sumptuous & rich lather & evidently deep cleanse… my skin feels moisturised & smooth to the touch. I’ve ditched all chemical & toxic cleansers for my skin… & hair… this makes a brilliant shampoo also… together with my pure organic almond oil conditioner & moisturiser my locks are looking luscious. Yes the bucket contains crumbly pieces but I just add a minuscule amount of water & it forms a permanent solid right until the soap eventually disappears with use. I bought a dark marble soap dish to show off the soap… as using a light or white coloured dish highlights the brown liquid residue that can remain in use which looks a bit messy & unsightly. So if you’re looking for a natural soap product that does 100% what soap & cleaners should do… then you need look no further!!!

The Black Soap I usually buy via Amazon, has been unavailable for a bit and I'm running out. So I thought I'd try this one as it has overall good reviews. Been using black soap for many years now. I am used to purchasing it in the markets when I visit The Gambia so think I know what I'm talking about!! Arrived mega swiftly, which was great. However on opening the large plastic tub, I was seriously disappointed to see the contents was totally full of crumbs of the soap which was light brown in colour. Not what the black soap I'm familiar with. Most black soaps have a tendancy to crumble . However, in my experience, you should be able to cut a decent quality one if it comes in block form, into sections to suit your own personal needs. Large knife ?..very little crumble. Soap should not be light brown but dark brown... Have asked for a refund.

I use to love this product as it was fully natural and didn't dry out my skin like other soap / shower gel. Unfortunately they've changed the formula so the soap looks more appealing which is a shame. Instead of changing the product due to negative reviews about the appearance, they should have just educated the customer! Now I will have to look elsewhere for a more authentic product- such a shame.

My West Indian nan always used to recommend this and now I understand why. It cleared up my spots within a few days (although to be honest I didn’t have severe acne to begin with) and has the thickest, creamiest lather of any soap/body wash I’ve ever used. Like others, I am used to seeing “bars” of soap and was initially surprised surprised at how it looked (like pre-baked apple crumble). However, seeing as play dough was probably the first thing I was exposed to upon entering the UK education system, this really isn’t a big deal for me personally. I simply take what I need from the tub and squash it together to form a bar. No issue whatsoever.
