So far, so very good
I don't normally write reviews. For the very low price this is remarkable. Setting it up was really easy and the instruction booklet is more than adequate albeit difficult to read due to the small text. You must use the remote to control it, so the sensor must be plugged in. It's true that the remote is a little clunky and the guide is not the sort typically found on more expensive devices, however the guide is very easy to use and once you get used to it, quite acceptable. I have been recording programs via the PVR for the few weeks that I have owned it and it has never missed a beat. The picture quality is excellend via the hdmi connection. You can schedule many recordings over many days/weeks, you only need to ensure that you have sufficient storage on your usb stick. That it records to a memory stick is an advantage to me as it allows to transfer recorded programs to the pc where if need be, I can then play the program on Windows Media Player or VLC etc. Once copied to the pc you can convert the video (mts.) into another file type to suit the needs of any portable player. I have played the recorded mts. video on a different LG smart tv via it's usb port and it works absolutely fine, so mostly I intend to keep with the mts. format. I have only had the device for about a month, so if it goes kaput I will edit this review.

A good buy for less then £20.
Very good value for the price. Good picture and recording quality and easy to install. Would advise using manual channel scan if your aerial picks up from more than one transmitter as the auto scan will store the programs on a first found basis regardless of signal strength. Marked down 1 star as it can occasionally "drop" a multiplex channel contents into the 800 (unknown) program number range so you need to re-scan that channel. Also the provided user guide does not reflect the remote supplied. Apart from that very pleased with it and would recommend for a simple single tuner / recorder.

Easy to set up and good picture but has some software issues
I bought this (about 3 weeks ago at the time of writing) as the remote for our small bedroom TV had been mangled by our new pup and rather than get a new remote I got this to not only get a new remote but to also get the RTE channels and the other main channels in HD. The unit arrived very quickly and was very easy to set up and tune-in. Easy to use and the picture quality is quite good. On the downside it is time consuming to arrange your favourite channel list and just after I'd managed to do this the unit tried to update and I lost everything and had to start again. Ironic given that the seller advised that other similar units on sale had software problems. This has happened a further couple of times so not perfect but given the price it's hard to complain too much. Probably acceptable for a second or bedroom TV but I wouldn't recommend for your main TV.
