If there are tiny bits of dirt or any scratches on the Slidez, then those grooves / dirt will have your full weight on them, and rub along the smooth surface in question. I have seen walls ruined and my kids' slide was ruined by assuming their "frictionless" nature would cause not damage. **Q: What is the difference between standard / court / exercise sliders options seen on this page? is it purely cosmetic? the exercise sliders are -$10.** A: Most of these questions (and answers) don't realize that there are TWO DIFFERENT MODELS: one for carpet (the standard with yellow slick plastic) and another for slick flooring (the court with black foam bottom and gray foam top for grip on shoes). Get the right model for your floor. I use the yellow standard on carpet and they work great! **Q: Can these be used on carpet?** A: Yes!
