Super wifi product
***First off, ignore all the 1 star reviews as these people have little or no computer skills and are blaming the product when it's their ignorance and lack of knowledge when it comes to their computer systems. Mostly all the problems detailed are the result of firewall problems and not with this product. I have Windows 7 64bit and this product works.*** Can not fault this product. Rated at 150Mbps and it works at that rate too. All I had to do was change the channel on my router to one that wasn't being used by other routers in my area. Use a free program called `inSSIDer`. The high gain adapter makes a big difference but can be modified to get a better signal using a can, crisp tube or tennis ball can. Just go on your favourite video hosting site or search engine and look up `cantenna`. I'm on a fibre connection and can get a wired Ethernet speed of 62mbps down and 18mbps up. With this product I can get 55mbps down and 16mbps up going through a floor and two walls. Although like a said I have modified both my router and this product by using a parabolic reflector system so it is not omni-directional but focuses the signal. I can get an `RSSI` signal strength of (-54) with this product. Windows sometimes states a 100% signal strength but `inSSIDer` gives a truer number. It installs very easily. Just plug it in and windows will install the drivers. Although I like to go and find the latest ones anyway from the manufacturers website. It comes with a USB2.0 extension lead so you can plug it into your desktop or laptop and position it somewhere or just have it sticking out the back or side. Very decent price on here. I paid £8.99 and feel it was the best USB wifi adaptor for the price and quality. Highly recommend this product for anyone who wants a 2.4ghz wifi adaptor.

Well-made, Windows/Linux-friendly, good performer, and cheap-as-chips!
I bought this to replace an ageing Belkin 54g USB adapter that was starting to fail through general wear-and-tear and hard use. First impressions are good. It appears to be sturdy and solid. It worked instantly out of the box, when plugged into a Linux computer (KUbuntu 12.04LTS), with no configuration, driver installing, or firmware-downloading. I rebooted into Windows XP and inserted the driver CD. I liked that I was able to select between "driver only" and "driver plus utility software" in the installation program. Whilst some people might appreciate the card's own management software, I don't want unnecessary rubbish cluttering my PC, so I opted for the "driver only" installation, and used the standard Windows network connection dialogues to set up my network. It connected instantly and I've had no "go-slow" periods, connection-dropouts etc. since. Range is very good; I can pick up the wireless networks of people who live across the road and down the street from me. Speed is also quite good. My old adapter was capable of 54Mbps, but would connect to our router at around 24-48. This TP-Link adapter connects to the same network at 65Mbps under Windows, and 72Mbps under Linux. It's too early to discuss durability, but initial indications are good. It looks very well put together and currently functions very well, so fingers-crossed (and an update will follow here if it turns out to be rubbish).

I Like It... It does it's job
I really like this product, as I do most TP-Link products. It really did make a difference from my old outdated Belkin "g" dongle. The old dongle was unreliable and constantly stopped working and the signal was only 2 bars. NOTE: This is for use in my garden office to connect to the router in my main home. I was skeptical as to how much of a difference it would it make though it really did improve the signal (to 4 bars) and the speed (NOTE: You need a "N" router to reach full speeds". The item has been working for over 2/3 weeks and the stand is a really nice touch to it. I am pleased with the product and if I need a new dongle in the near future, I will not hesitate in purchasing another of the same. Aesthetics: Good looking (especially with stand) Speed: Good improvement in speed from garden office (particularly in consistent speeds) Signal: Improvement from 2 to 4 bars! Generally: Item is recommended, good price and performance.

Gets my Synology server back online.
We changed our broadband a couple of months ago, and I noticed that the new cheap and nasty Technicolour TG589vac router supplied by SSE was blocking any connection to the Internet for my Synology Diskstation, which was connected by ethernet cable to the router - (basically SSE specify a heavily locked down version of the firmware, so it's not easy to change anything or have any control over your own network). Nightmare, I can't update my server or use the online features. No amount of fiddling with the router settings would allow my Synology to connect to the Internet. Reading round the Internet I found I wasn't the only person with this problem with the technicolour router, the solution appeared to be ethernet would not allow any Internet connection, but wifi would. Looking on the synology website, this was one of the few usb wifi adapters listed that is readily available in the UK. It's a decent price, and arrived quickly. Popping it in the usb socket at the back it was instantly recognised by the Synology. The WiFi settings was added to the control panel, and it was a quick process to connect, using the instructions on the Synology website. Instantly the Synology found numerous updates needed for the various software packages, and the main firmware, as well as the clock updating on the synology. I still have the ethernet cable connected and my home network still functions as before, but now all the extras I was used to were back functioning. Interestingly if this dongle is connected to your Synology, and your Synology is able to connect to the Internet by ethernet, this can then be used as a wireless hotspot to extend your network. When we get to the end of our broadband contract if we get a decent router, then this might be something I'd look into. As an added bonus the Synology is far quicker now when dealing with the Internet. Summary - great price wifi dongle that works flawlessly with a synology. If you've a broadband supplier that feels the need to be overly controlling with their router, this will cheaply solve your problems.

Amazing
At the time of purchase this cost me just under 10 pounds (9.73 to be precise) and arrived in 2 days along with my monitor (With FREE Super Saver Delivery - this was a pleasant surprise). The wireless USB adapter comes with a stand, I suppose it's being called a "cradle" which you can plug the device into, and then plug into the USB port for ease. Also, if you are plugging the device in directly, the head of the device is quite big so it may just block of the USB port next to it. On the bright side, the solution of the cradle was convenient and visually pleasing as well. My talktalk wireless hub/rotuer is situated downstairs in my house, and while I am upstairs, I usually get 4-5 bars (out of 5) so I am quite pleased with the wireless adapter. It does not hinder speed or increase lag, as I ran a speed test just now and got a downlink of 15 mbps (megabits per second) and a ping/latency of 27 ms, which goes as low as 7 at times. Inside the box is a small DVD which has the installation setup and necessary drivers. Very simple to run, however the manual was a little misleading as it told me to pick a model number that was not even listed! Outdated, I suppose. However, you need no expertise to pick the model for which you are willing to install drivers as I believe there are only 4 options with images, easily differentiated from one another without any need to look at the model number or text. Just to confirm, I did have a look at the model number TL-WN722N and matched it with the option in the setup. I have to say, it works like a charm. Overall, I am very pleased with this device and I would definitely recommend it. Priced very reasonably, I see no reason to hold back or opt for another USB adapter.

First Impressions... (plus update)
Pros: 1. Very good signal! 2. Thanks to the aerial, the adapter can pick up signals from much further away than that of standard B/G/N adapters. 3. Looks smart, and thankfully, doesn't look cheap, in my opinion. 4. Very clear light that shows its activity. 5. Detachable aerial, allowing for upgrades. 6. Extension cable included, with a matching base, which can be useful. Cons: 1. It wasn't free. 2. It didn't come with a free supercar, a 52" plasma screen TV, or a scented candle. 3... ...nope, that's it! It's an awesome bit of kit, is my first impression, but this is only the first day! Oh, and the drivers are included, and although I installed the device manually, I should suspect the software to be simple enough! (just use Windows) UPDATE: Sadly, this thing died on me a couple of months back. :( It was amazing, but I noticed disconnects, until eventually it stopped working and I had to use something else. I can't say for absolute certainty that it wasn't some other random thing causing the problem, but I can tell you that plugging in a different wireless USB thingy did however instantly work... so you make your own choice as to whether to buy this or not. Personally, given the price... I'd say go for it, and see what happens; it did do me proud for a while.

Works Great
Purchased this product after moving to a different room where my internal wi-fi adapter had very weak connection and no connection at sometimes. And after using this, I have a great connection with upto 60% improvement and no disconnects. Just had one little problem at the beginning which I blame for the lack of good instruction on the manual. After installing the drivers, when I tried to connect it to the internet which it was showing fine, it kept saying straight away that the could not connect. I looked all over for help but to no avail. Then I noticed there was something called QSS driver and finally I noticed it in another manual which I downloaded off their site which says to press on the QSS button by the side. Very small button with no indication it is there. After pressing it and putting the password, I had the internet. It was that easy even with the livebox router of orange. One thing the manufacturers could improve could be the light signals that flashes to notify the user which sadly right now confuses rather then helps. All in all, money well spent on a good piece of equipment.

Simple plug and play device, works well with Ubuntu Linux
There's not a lot that can be said about a USB wireless adapter. It's decent-enough looking to sit on a desk without drawing too much attention. It worked instantly when plugged in. My house has thick stone walls, and there are two of them between this adapter and the router (BT Home Hub 2.0), but this adapter still gets two out of four bars signal at 52Mbps. It's a good, solid connection too, which is more than the D-Link and Belkin adapters I have get - they struggle to maintain any form of connection. Plugging in the 802.11n access point at this side of the house the signal (unsurprisingly) reaches ~80% strength and hits 120Mbps. In spite of the solid performance thus far, I have given this product only four stars. It dropped a mark because TP-Link offer no information as to whether or not this product is Linux-compatible. Given the fact that they are a networking specialist and a huge organisation, coupled with the growing uptake of Linux, it is unacceptable that they do not offer at least a token sentence in the user manual or product description to let prospective buyers know that this product does indeed work with Linux. Thankfully, Linux seems to be happy working with just about anything these days, however, it would be nice if TP-Link had confirmed that it definitely works prior to customers buying it.
