The screw side is too big and not fit to the membrane housing

Got this to replace a similar item which seal had broken at the push-fit end so it was leaking.The replacement screwed in perfectly and the push-fit end did seal perfectly, however, the screw in end leaked a lot. It was screwed in extremely firmly so that wasn't the issue. The original faulty item was put back in and performed as it did before with the screw end perfectly seals but leaking through the broken seal. Somehow it seems that the screw end of this item allows a major leak rendering the item useless.
