Review: Who knew this fixed slipping CD drive belts? - The venerable Yamaha mini hifi had given sterling service, but the CD drawer wouldn't open anymore. Being a tinkerer, rather than replace for £300, I opened it up, cleaned it etc and thought about changing the tray drive belt, but didn't because a similar repair on a cassette deck hadn't worked. THe CD drawer still didn't open after the clean but a bit of Googling suggested this stuff might work. As I also had a squeaky transmission drive belt in the car I thought I'd get some anyway. Somewhat to my surprise it works very effectively. You don't need much. Just a quick spray. The drive belt feels a bit stickier at first and then dries out. OPens at the touch of a button now, as before. Now for the car.
Review: Good temporary fix. - Cost to undertake a belt replacepment and potentially tensioner pulley excessively expensive , I will need to do this job in the future however, the original belt shows no signs of cracking etc. Spray works well but is not instant takes a few miles and or a couple days running before the belt runs quietly. Has been running very quietly for several weeks.

**Q: can I use this on my sewing machine**
A: I would not advise this Silicone spray to be used as you asked as it is a spray and cannot be directed directly on to   one small area would be to messy

**Q: Hi. Could this be used to spray over a motorbike engine, metal and plastics for an added level of protection?**
A: no

**Q: would this work on treadmills?**
A: I use this product on my lathe,milling machine and many other tools and it works well, and Im sure it would work on treadmills. I have a temperamental cuckoo clock which I intend to clean and lubricate with said product , Im sure it will resolve the problem

**Q: does it include a straw for localised application?**
A: No it doesn't, I swapped the top with one from an empty air duster can (which had a straw). Works well.
