Outdoor Bottle.
The filter. I've only used the filter on tap water at this time, and it seems to work well. My household tap tends to have a not so great flavor and with this filter it has a clean, pleasant taste. It is true that the filter only pulls to the last 10 or 12 ounces and for an OUTDOOR filter I am perfectly okay with this. If I'm out hiking, camping or what not and I have to get water from a river, lake or stream the sediment will settle on the bottom of the bottle and will not be sucked up into the filter. It does take some suction force to get water but when you are sucking through a filter, its to be expected. The more you use it the easier it will get. The bottle. This specific bottle is a soft material, which is good for outdoor durability. I'd of preferred a hard bottle. It's a matter of preference is all. The cap. The cap is quality built, easy to use. The lid opens nicely the mouth piece flips up easy and the spot where the carabiner attaches is thick and tough so it wont break easily. The slot that the mouth piece tucks into is also where the air hole is and mine tends to build up a decent amount of water in this area. I think this is due to me squeezing the soft bottle. It's not an issue for leaking but will be an area to pay close attention to when cleaning as its where mold, bacteria etc. will build up and where the mouth piece sits. The carabiner. Nite Ize S-Biner #4, I already own a bunch of these, I like them. Not for climbing use but they are great for gear and can be used for way more than holding just your bottle. I bought this bottle for a trip next month, where water may be questionable. When I get back IF this did not work well I will update the review.

Great for travel or hybrid work to filter water.
This little filter is a powerhouse. I do wish I had chosen a larger size water bottle, but that is my fault for not being more careful. I use this to keep in my living quarters on the days my hybrid work is in person (a different city than my home). It allows less bulky water filtering with less stuff needed (no big pitcher or faucet attachments) and is portable if I wanted it to be. There is no smell, is easy to use and being Nalgene, I know the quality and durability is there. It may cost a little more, but it will be good for life and can be taken camping, too, I love it.

First impressions
I've only been using this for a day, but will update this review later on. Filter: Wow the filter is excellent at removing foul tastes from tap water. I live in a city with a lake fed water supply, and late summer algae blooms in the lake make the water taste terrible. It's allegedly hard to get rid of the compounds in the water from the algae blooms that cause the bad taste and odor, but this filter performs flawlessly. That said, the large filter on my refrigerator performs this task just as well, but anecdotes I've seen about our city's water quality imply that a Brita isn't fully able to eliminate the algae issues. Leakage: I filled up the bottle, turned it upside down, and no water leaks out. Time will tell if it continues to hold up in this regard, but so far so good. I hope it will remain leak proof as I would normally be carrying this in a sling bag and a messenger bag, which would both hold the bottle at angles that would probably cause leakage. Capacity: As mentioned in most reviews, you cannot drink all of the water due to the design of the filter. You're left with 4-6oz of inaccessible water, depending on how you have the filter oriented and the bottle angle (I'm still experimenting on which way is best). This would be less of an issue if the filter only had the opening on the bottom instead of the sides, but I assume this is a design trade off for maximizing filter effectiveness and reducing the pressure needed to draw water through it. I'm ok with the compromises made here, but you might want one of the 48oz bottles instead if capacity is a concern for you. Also note that the 32oz rated capacity includes the filter displacement, so subtracting 4oz of inaccessible water, you can get 28oz of drinkable water per fill. Side note, if you have a Nalgene / Guyout stainless 38oz bottle and are curious if the lid from the Epic Nalgene bottle fits, it does fit, but it also does not seal well enough and will leak. You might be able to really crank it down to get it to seal up, but I didn't want to damage the threads. UPDATE: I used this for a week on vacation for all drinking water in Orlando at a hotel and in the theme parks. If you're familiar with the water in this area, it has a strong sulfur taste and smell, but this filter eliminated it completely. I also had zero issues with the lid leaking, and all in all this bottle / filter performed flawlessly for me all week long. The only con to this bottle is that you can't filter water for others with it. UPDATE 2: I liked the 32oz so much that I ended up getting a 48oz as well. Still no issues with leaking with either of them. UPDATE 3: The new filter design allows you to drink almost all of the water with no trouble, nice! I'm two years in on two of these bottles, still working great, still no leaks. UPDATE 4 (Sept 2025): Three years in now, bottles are still working great, and they still don't leak. They've redesigned the "everywhere" filter again and now it has a bit of charcoal so it does a good job of eliminating weird tastes and it's easier to drink through. 100% still recommend these bottles and filters.

Good product! Lacking instructions
I love the concept and it seems to work well. Not a super noticeable difference in taste but I think it tastes better. I just care about not drinking metals! It came in a bag, inside of a bag. No social boxing or logos which make ordering fun. It also came with NO INSTRUCTIONS which was frustrating for me. I heard you’re supposed to run cold water over filter or let it soak in a bowl of water, but no instructions so I had to search it up. Apparently Epic Water actually filters out bad chemicals and metals from tap water many times more than Brita. I almost bought Brita which is a similar price. But I am happy I got this! My only recommendation: add packaging not just bags, add instructions, add maybe a couple fun stickers like most nalgenes come with.

Works great. Tap water tastes fresh and clean. Components feel like they are high quality, and assemble easily. It is not difficult to suck water through the filter. When the water level gets low, you can't use the filter, and have to top up. Filters are easy to change. At the time of writing I haven't tried the everywhere filter for outdoor water sources, so unfortunately can't speak to that.

Klare Empfehlung!

I hesitated to purchase this at first because of the sippy spout since I’m a huge gulper, and had few bottles this type and didn’t like it. However, the Epic filter was my biggest draw so I went ahead. Didn’t regret . Because of the material of the spout, it makes it so comfortable to sip and finding myself drinking more than usual. For context I drink 3L a day as baseline (not including workout etc) Plus - quality of Nalgene bottle is always robust, quality of material is great - option to get 1.5L size - Epic filter than I can change regularly - water taste great (or could be placebo lol ) - the art is a nice personal touch Not so plus - no handle which is ok because I think adding handle would make this bottle ugly, I fixed it by getting an XL carabiner (seen on photo, also purchased separately from Amazon) Highly recommend. I Will likely purchase a smaller size as another option .
