Great little fryer. Perfect for one person. I did homemade southern fried chicken & chips. Photos show how well they came out. Gorgeous chicken but chips needed longer. I only left them in for 10mins, leave for 20 if you want them crunchy. As you can see the viewing window totally misted up, you can’t see a thing so that’s a bad point but I just lifted the lid it’s easier! Only other negative is the basket handle, it’s useless! I used a pair of tongs instead, much safer. I also took the food out with the tongs whilst basket still in oil then lifted the basket out after as it’s less weighty (like a feather). Can’t really fault this for the price, under £20! You could literally take it anywhere it’s so small. Massively better than an air fryer, I gave my air fryer away as this is way better!

It was very cheap and perfect size for a one person portion. It heats up fast. There's no off switch, just a dial that has an off position and would be too easy to accidentally turn on from a very light knock - also the power light stays on no matter what - so you have to turn it off at the mains. When the handle is attached it sticks out horizontally about 8" from the front. When you detach it for storage there's nowhere to keep it - you can just about jam it in so that most of it's within the fryer but it will prop the lid slightly open and wobble around. The handle is very slightly too short vertically, the basket won't fully submerge into the oil with it attached and if you unclip it the basket drops too far down to be able to retrieve it. I've bent the handle myself to make it slightly better but it's not perfect. A shame that the problem is due to the bend being about 1/2cm too far along.

I use the double/triple fry method for chips and I have to remove the basket for the last quick fry on a high temperature. It's so small that when I use the basket with just one portion and with the oil at the right level marker, the oil just erupts from it. Hot oil all over the worktop. What a mess. So I've bought a long handled wire strainer instead to safely remove the chips once they are ready. Putting the basket in it again on 180 degrees is just too dangerous. The handle is also very unstable and the basket wobbles. If you're using frozen chips or fries I'd let them defrost first as that's also very risky as the ice turns to water in the fryer and it's too small for the extra liquid. I only bought it as I rarely make chips and just make a small portion, but this is just way too small. Update: this is too dangerous to use in my opinion. Even though I defrosted some frozen french fries first it almost caused an accident at the weekend as it started roaring and hot oil shot out of it as I tried to switch it off. I've never heard such a noise it was absolutely terrifying trying to stop the oil flying out of it. I won't be using this again. The oil inside was below the max level too and the fryer wasn't on too high but I believe the thermostat is broken because things had started getting very brown quickly on only 150 degrees. Looking at all the customer reviews stating this is dangerous and going back years I'm disgusted it wasn't withdrawn from sale. It said it was a 4 star product!

I was really surpirsed about the quality of this product. Well made and cooks well. I tried it with doughnuts and it's good. Easy to use and easy to clean. Great for the price and doesn't use too much oil, which is why I bought it.

2nd time I used this the thermostat didn’t work! The dangerous part about this item is according to the manufacturer’s instructions is to locate the handle whilst the basket is in the very hot oil! Very awkward to do and to me very difficult and dangerous. On the good side it is nice and small and did make delicious chips! Also the book says up to 20 mins to heat up! it only takes 4-5 mins!

Very easy to use and does the job. Pictures on the front showing cooking times for certain foods wash off quickly but the manual that comes with it gives good information. Basket in use is small but enough for a single portion. I use it without the basket and I can easily make a generous half a plate of chips as you can fit a lot more in, just need a spatula to get them out. Capacity is about 0.8 or 0.9 of a litre not 1 litre and I'd recommend you fill to the min mark rather than the max.
