Beautiful sturdy brushes that hold paint well and are a joy to paint with
I first purchased the Kolinsky Sable Watercolor Travel 4 Brush set with the wood shafts that contain a Liner, Pointed Round, Flat, Cat's Tongue Oval Wash brushes and loved them so much I came back and purchased these two sets. These stand up to the quality of the first set perfectly. Pros: 1. Beautiful sturdy brushes that hold paint well and are a joy to paint with. 2. They have great hand feel and comfortable weight to them. 3. They come in a nice sturdy beautiful leather pouch that makes them easy to transport and pack. I use them every time I paint whether traveling or not. 4. The barrel you insert the brush into is nice and wide so you don't run the risk of spreading the bristles. 5. They stay nice and secure when opened since they screw together as opposed to slip on. 6. They paint so smooth and clean. 7. The tip stays nice and sharp as well. 8. Fantastic value for the quality. Cons: NONE! I cannot speak to the professional quality of them as I am an intermediate watercolor painter and do not own super expensive brushes but I have used them almost daily since I purchased them and have had nothing but satisfaction for with these brushes. They really helped step up my game once I started using them. I wish there was a set of detail brushes like these available. I absolutely love painting with these brushes. I would love to see a set of larger round brush sizes as well as a set detail brushes available.

Buy These Brushes!
Quick version: Buy these! Amazing price for the quantity and quality. Hold a very sharp point for detail work with a big belly for plenty of pigment and water retention. The threading makes the connection secure so you can “flick” excess water without the brush flying off the handle (some of those slide on ones can get really loose). Handles give a thickness that’s more comfortable to hold than thinner non-portable brushes. So sorry to the squirrels that were sacrificed in the making of these… but considering how greedy the local squirrels are at my bird feeders and the mess they make on my porch, my sympathies are limited. Long version: In the first picture the sample head I painted is just about 1.75” (4cm) tall and was only with the middle size 8 brush from the set, on cheap student non 100% cotton scrap paper and I was impressed with the control and specificity I could get in the line of the profile and hair features with the point. I have too many squirrel quill brushes and synthetic squirrel brushes and brushes that mix both, all that range from expensive brands to moderately priced synthetics. These are just about as good as the BEST [ and my favorite] squirrel quill brushes out there, Da Vinci petit gris pur, for a fraction of the cost and thrice the practicality. Granted, I do like to “draw” with my brush points which some artists frown upon, but that’s my jam so a point is important to me. The bristles of these Fuumuui brushes do have a little more ‘spring’ which many out there will appreciate, so they do bounce back vertically after a stroke rather than softer hairs that stay angled or ‘limp’. Da Vinci petit gris pur bristles don’t have as much spring so when wet after a brush stroke, the hair will stay in that bent direction, and I tend to prefer. While some people assume that’s a flaw, that actually gives you more versatility in dry brush techniques, detail work, or interesting splayed effects. But that doesn’t detract about how great these are to work with. Since sizing is not standard among brands I’ve also pictured them next to the other squirrel brushes I had on top of my desk that looked similar in size and point for visual comparison, natural squirrel Da Vinci, and synthetic Raphael SoftAqua. And do note that this 3 brush set with a carrying case - is just a few bucks more than the small cheapest brush of those pictured, the 3/0 SoftAqua.

Good quality compact 4 brush travel kit.
A higher quality than one would expect at this price. A four compact watercolor brush set with a substantial #10 round. Metal screw on handles ensure that brushes stay secure when employing various stippling techniques. A small hole in each cap allows brushes to dry when not in use.

Squirrels Hair Brushes Rock/Other Set Does Not
Update on Squirrel Hair Quill Set:: I have been using and carrying these for a few months and the bristles are still fantastic as ever, no shedding at all and I have gotten down the perfect method of inserting them into their handle cap without risk of bending any of the hairs at all. That all being said the ferrule is a problem, as it’s cracking and crumbling apart at the ends already. I am really upset about this because if the ferrule fails then the entire brush is a waste and that would be such a big loss and a huge shame, for such fantastic quality brush handles and bristles to have such an important part be the week spot in the end. I always dry my brushes on an absorbent bamboo cloth before capping if in a hurry but mostly just allow them to fully dry before capping because it doesn’t ale long after using the bamboo cloth. They do also have a vent hole so I can’t see how I have done anything to cause this myself. I will update it and when they fail entirely on me, I really just hope that doesn’t happen Original Review for Squirrel Hair Quill Mop Brushes: These are fantastic. They are so soft and absorbent and actually come to such an incredible point I cannot complain at all! The screw together handles are just genius and quality and sturdy above all! They are also really well balanced for holding and working with for longer painting sessions if need be. The included sizes are absolutely perfect, the biggest being just a stunningly beautiful brush and brings me a lot of joy using them. Anytime I pull them out I get asked about them. I am so so glad I got them. They go with me everywhere anymore. Review for Assorted Travel Set: I love the concept of these brushes with the handles that are threaded together and do not come apart. However, the bristles on these brushes were wholly horrible. Frayed and unevenly cut only 1 of them came to a decent point and they are so soft and mushy thenpoint doesn’t last at all. Zero stars

Impressive and Surprising, LOVE Fuumuui brushes!
I purchased these brushes on a whim; they came up in my search for synthetic Kolinsky watercolor brushes. For the price I was a bit skeptical, but since I could return them if they didn’t meet my standards, I took a chance. I also purchased another set, same brand, that were just regular short-handled watercolor brushes. At first, when I started using them, I worried a bit because they were shedding. Thankfully the shedding stopped. These brushes arrived on July 12 and I’ve used them every day since! They hold a tremendous amount of water/pigment, have great snap, and are capable of creating fine lines. I love both sets, but tend to use the travel brushes more because I like the weight and feel of them! Hot tip: do NOT attempt to cap the travel brushes when dry, it won’t work because they are fluffy. For full transparency, it took me a sec to figure out how to re-cap them…I discovered there is a small hole in the cap tip. To re-cap them, simply dip them in clean water, roll them on a paper towel (or use your fingers) to a point and place them in the tube! Voila!! Your travel brushes are good to go and there is no damage to the bristles. Recently I took a trip to the beach and took the 4-piece travel set with me. I was able to paint any and everything I wanted with just 4 brushes! I’d love to add a small liner brush for super tiny details; maybe they have one I didn’t see? In short, I have been so thoroughly impressed with these brushes! I’m always searching for “the” best brushes for watercolor, and I have quite the collection now! I find myself reaching for these 9 out of 10 times. For the price, I’d say these brushes are a steal! I have another synthetic Kolinsky brush that cost the same price I paid for the travel set and, in my opinion, the Fuumuuis put it to shame. Take a chance, buy the brushes, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Well made and beautiful!
I often to paint on the go (coffee shop, on vacation) so I’ve been trying to get a collection of travel brushes together to keep in my “painting to go” bag so I don’t have to pack up my regular brushes up every time. Of the 4 sets I have purchased, this set is the nicest/well made. 1. Solid construction meaning no loose ferrules and no hairs falling out when I paint. 2. Screw on handles vs snap on makes the handle more secure. No wobbles! 3. Beautiful to look at. Yes. I care. Haha 4. These quill-style squirrel hair brushes are soft, hold lots of water and come to a perfect fine point for delicate lines. Yum! So fun.

Excellent quality brushes, convenient size, great travel set
Excellent quality set of round watercolor travel brushes, that will be perfect in my traveling art kit! I love that the end that protects the brush end comes off and can be screwed to the other end to make it the same size as a typical paint brush! The pouch is a perfect size to fit into a pocket, and holds all of the brushes. Looking forward to taking it on a vacation in a few weeks, so I can paint out on the beach! Thank you for making such a wonderful travel size paint brush set!
