My partner and I started going to therapy, and our counselor recommended these cards to us. We've been using them, usually 5-10 cards at a time, off and on over the past few months. Things they have helped us with: Communication - these cards encourage both of us to communicate things with each other that we other might not, or might not think to. Having little prompts gives us small topics to come together on and discuss. Some questions are hard, and the conversation following them can offer growth opportunities, while some questions are fun and light, and bring levity back to the conversation. Opening up and talking to each other about everything has given us both a new perspective on having conversations, whether difficult or not, outside of the game. Bonding opportunity - coming together to do something for ourselves and our relationship has made me feel closer to my partner. Sitting on our bed and being vulnerable with each other has reminded me, or has even taught me, why we are together and why we work so well. The lighter questions, in particular, gave us an opportunity to be playful and have fun with each other, offering some lightness and fun in the way we interacted with each other, which made me feel closer to him. Something to do other than staring at a screen at night: Sometimes we will turn off the TV in the evening and pick up a few cards to engage with one another. We both have busy lives, so turning on the TV and melting into the couch has been our nightly routine after tiring days, but sometimes we opt to sit on our bed and go through a small stack of these cards. Doing something mentally active with one another at the end of the day is such a nice alternative to staring at our TV screen and just existing next to each other. We both want to continue to work to strengthen our relationship, and this is just a nice way be together and do some work while having fun. I highly recommend these to anyone in a serious relationship. You'll feel closer to your partner and have even greater hope for your future together.

I brought this along on a weekend getaway and it was such a great addition. We really enjoyed using it to get to know each other better. Some of the questions are light and fun, while others are more serious and make you pause to think about how well you truly know your partner. I also loved that it was small enough to slip into my bag and take on the trip.

Bought these years ago before my now husband and I were even engaged and still use them. We keep it in the car for park days/date nights/coffee days/long road trips and 100% believe it continues to strengthen our communication and bond. We’ve recommended it to so many other couples who have bought it and love it as well.

These are fun question cards that get you communicating with your partner. Easy to use instructions. Good quality. Some of the questions didn't apply to us, but overall they were enlightening.

Very fun game to play with your partner or even a best friend although some questions are a little bit steamy. Works really well to get you thinking and talking about things you may not have before

Great tool for deepening relationships

For those that say this game is an easy way out, starts arguments or has negative questions, I’m sorry you didn’t have a good foundation of communication and empathy with your partner. Me and my husband have been together almost 10 years. We’ve had LOTS of ups and downs. Been through trials, therapy, all of it. We were able to make it halfway through the game being open and honest with each other before we had to stop because it was getting too late. I will say, by the 4th card, he was biting his nails, and by about fifteen minutes in I was definitely in the hot seat, but we have good communication skills at the end of the day and know the other person isn’t being evil. I honestly look forward to finishing this game, and as a Masters Level Intern of Clinical therapy, this might even be a good game to have for couples counseling once we’re several sessions in. But if you don’t have good communication, you DONT need to play this game alone and you NEED a mediator or to FIND SOMETHING ELSE to purchase.

I really enjoyed The Skin Deep Couples Edition! This game is a fantastic way to connect and have meaningful conversations with your partner. The questions are thought-provoking without feeling intrusive, and it’s a fun way to explore each other’s perspectives and experiences. I love that it encourages honesty and reflection while still keeping things lighthearted and engaging. It’s perfect for date nights, long evenings at home, or even as a conversation starter with friends who are comfortable with deeper discussions. My boyfriend and I are long distance, so we got these to use on our FaceTime calls and love them. I was a bit worried that we would get through these too quickly, but there is so many card and you can get into long, thoughtful discussions with each one. I saw this company has other types, and I’d definitely consider getting those as well!

I really enjoy this set if cards. I've used it a few times and it's always had excellent questions and the conversations have always been enjoyable and enlightening and thoughtful/introspective.
