Well designed, well built, top performing blender.
Having agonised over the Nutri-hype, read dozens of reviews and spoken to as many friends, I decided to go with my gut feeling and years of experience with appliances. I chose the Sage product based on their hard wearing features that maximised the used of metal and stainless steel, simplicity of design, and personal experience with other Sage products of the current generation of appliances (i.e.. the coffee grinder). The build and design are the show stoppers here. As far as personal blenders go, most common complains have been noise, build quality, leaking and sealing and overall durability of the motor. Furthermore I have found that manufacturer warrantee claims have increased (based on reviews) as the Nutri-hyped blenders upgraded their capacity, kWs and functions to remain ahead of the competition. In my experience this stems from limited design overhaul and trying to squeeze too much out of a dated platform.I have used this blender daily. The items I am yet to blend are ice and avocado stones. However, any frozen fruit or vegetable, nuts or seed that have gone through the blender have been adequately-to-very-well pulverised. I think the action of the blades do well to circulate the contents effectively throughout the cup, leaving no "dead-spots" where packing or accumulation of pulp could occur. The motor is very powerful. If operated as recommended by the manufacturer, you can control the amount of heat generated and extend the life of your motor. The operating noise levels are manageable. I live in an apartment and have asked my neighbours whether my blending bothers them. No problems so far. Blending for two rarely takes longer than 40-50 seconds. The cups and lids are excellent both from a design and performance point of view. The unit itself has a very compact footprint, and is aesthetically pleasing in any kitchen.Overall, I get the impression that sensible use and cleaning will see this blender perform for many years to come.Highly recommended.

Best kitchen purchase I've made - ever. If I could be alone in a room with this machine, I'd die a happy man.
I think I am actually in love with this machine. I've had a juicer for many years as at the time of purchase, I didn't really feel smoothie machines were up to the challenge of making a "smooth" drink. However, my juicer bit the dust a few weeks ago so I checked out the smoothie machines again as I know they are healthier options. The Sage range had literally just hit the market and is branded as smoother than the nutri-ninja (the option I was thinking of going for). This thing is elegant, simple, powerful and fast. The recipe book is typical Heston with complicated recipes. I'm not usually a fan of complicated, but as it was the only recipes I had, I have found the time to try a few. OMG they are so nice and smooth - have I mentioned how ridiculously smooth the drinks are that this produces. His recipes are worth the effort as they really demonstrate the fun and flavour you can achieve with a smoothie. It's super quick and easy to clean, small to store and the two tumblers and lids are ideal for travelling with them, should you make a couple to save for later - though I still find immediate consumption preferable. I really was nervous with going for a smoothie machine as I just don't like bitty smoothies, but I am impressed with this.

Great brushed metal finish, works well!
Great brushed metal finish, works wellI was interested in the travel containers and the fact that you can make a smoothie and twist off the same container you made it in, cap it and go.The machine blends really well, even with spinach, and hence I find this an easy way to consume more vegetables. The motor is as noisy as expected, but does it job quickly, so its OKThe twist to start is convenient as there are no buttons and hence the machine is easy to cleanThe smoothies are really smooth and it crushes ice, without breaking a sweat... well, it does sweat , but only on the Tritan canister!I'm very happy with it, as I have been with almost all the Sage stuff I've bought. Recommended if you want to consume more fruit and vegetables, with the fiber

Amazing for green smoothies
This blender is awesome. I was thinking of spending a small fortune on a vitamix, and am glad I got this instead. I've used cheap blenders in the past, and they're no good for blending leafy greens such as kale because they don't process the leaves finely enough. They can also break if you use frozen fruit. The Sage blends kale, swiss chard and frozen bananas to a smooth and uniform texture, quickly and easily. It's fast, reliable, easy to use, and very stylish (sleek and minimal). It comes with two cups and lids; these are spill proof and therefore really good for taking to work. The only drawback is, you can only blend one serving at a time.

Simple and very effective
This blender was bought to replace my ageing and very well used Nutribullet. My expectations were high, and Sage managed to meet them on all fronts.I never used my Nutribullet for anything but smoothies, however, the extra power of the Sage gave me the confidence to branch out. At work I use a Thermomix TM5 for making various purees and nut butters. I tried scaled down versions of my recipes and was very pleased with the results. Yes, the Sage wasn't quite as quick as the Thermomix, but for the price it performed admirably, producing smooth and consistent results and was quick and easy to clean afterwards.I removed a star as the Sage is on the loud sound, it is a blender I know, however, this really is very loud when you stand by it to blend. A real wake-up-call first thing in the morning! With this one gripe aside, I would happily recommend this product.
