TV Streaming Problem Solved - Very happy!
We had constant issues with trying to stream TV over our wifi due to the weak wifi signal strength in our extension where we watch TV. I was looking for a solution that enabled me to stream TV over an ethernet link from my existing router and also deliver a strong wifi signal for phone/tablet browsing. After research the TP-Link TL-WPA8630PKIT appeared to exactly meet these requirements. First impressions on opening the box and removing the kit was that it had the feel and look of quality. The sheet of installation and set up instructions is very easy to follow. Installation basically just requires the units to be paired and the router network name to be extended to the TP-Link if you so wish. You can use the default TP-Link network name in addition to your existing router if you want an additional network. For ease of use I wanted to continue using my existing network name throughout the house. To do this is a simple if you have a WPS button on your existing router. You just have to press the WPS button then the WIFI button on the TP-Link and the rest is automatically done. If you do not have a WPS button you can use the phone app to change the network name but I can't comment on how easy that is to do. I was fully expecting something to go wrong and to be looking up trouble shooting instructions but to my surprise and delight everything worked as it should and the kit was installed and working in 15 mins. We now have uninterrupted TV streaming and much faster wifi at that end to the house. The wifi now extends out into the garden which it did not before. The extender adaptor is working on a different ring main to the main unit but this is not causing any problems and the speed seems to be fine. Overall very pleased with this product and it comes with a 3 year warranty so hoping for good reliability but only time will tell.

Absolutely brilliant pieces of kit, definite recommend
I bought these to replace some obsolete Homeplug AV's. We have a lot more devices to connect compared to a decade ago, the kids now have their own stuff and our old network was flagging when everyone was connected and doing stuff. We have: three mobile phones, four laptops, an Echo, Echo Dot, a smart TV, a SkyHD+ box and a PC. We do everything from streaming HD video, on-line games, and browsing the net. I bought the WPA8630 Kit and a 8630 range extender, rated at 1300 Mbps, I figured we needed it. We are lucky to have a Sky Q fibre broadband box and a fast connection. I worked in technology for many years and I'm not a slouch when it comes to this kind of stuff. I was expecting a good hour of mucking around with these to get it right. I was delighted to be wrong. First, plug in the main plug and use some cable to hook it up to the router. I plugged in the Wi-fi box and the wi-fi range extender close to the Sky Q router. One at a time, I pushed the pair button on the main plug and then paired the rest with a simple push of the 'pair' button, done. Then I pressed the WPS button on the Sky Q box until it went orange and one at a time, pressed the wi-fi button on the wi-fi plugs. This copied the wi-fi password and ID to each of the two WPA8630s, done. That was it, the network Id and password were copied onto the two WPA wi-fi boxes. I set these up in each of the rooms needed. I just made sure all our devices connected, they did not even notice the difference, even the SKY HD+ box was happy. It took 10 minutes. I would recommend using the TP-Link app to set admin passwords for the two wi-fi plugs, there is an excellent step-by-step foldout supplied for all I have described including setting admin passwords. I am stoked at how good these devices are, before we had a few 'not spots'. They cover the whole house with a strong wi-fi signal, everything connected easily, and is much faster to access the net, etc, etc.... Brilliant, these are not inexpensive, I wanted the pass-through on the plugs so we would not lose the sockets. They are good for 10 amps I would say, I would not put 13 Amps through them though. Highly recommended, I've had TP-Link stuff before and it always delivers the goods. These are no exception.

Easy to set-up and install, and seem to perform well so far (2wks)
I’m a bit cautious with new tech, but this was pretty simple to set-up and install, and behaved just as the instructions said. Video works very well via Ethernet cable even when plugged into a remote part of the house. Jury’s out for the moment on the device as a WiFi extender - but that might just be me - I can’t tell if it’s an improvement or not. Couple of notes for would be purchasers: 1) box comes with 2x 2m Ethernet cables - so you may not need to buy extra. 2) initial impression is that these devices are bigger than expected - so you’ll need a bit of space around and away from the socket where you want to plug them in. 3) the pairing button on the left side of the adapter & extender can be hard to reach depending on the location of the power socket near your router. They would be more convenient on the front or top.
