Will I be able to wire up both my left and right brakes or just one?** A: This set consists of two "universal" cables and two cable housings. By "universal", each cable has a separate lead "plug" at each end. One of the plugs will fit brakes used on flat bars; the other will fit brakes used on drop bars. After testing to see which one you need, cut off the other one. You should be able to wire up both brakes. **Q: Will it work for mechanical disc brakes?** A: Yes. You cut them to length. They work great with my bb7's **Q: How do I put the black rubber on the cable?** A: Feed the cable through the black housing it will make sense once you see it **Q: what is the use of ferrules and end caps? and do i need to buy extra ones from Shimano from amazon?** A: The new ferrules can replace the ones that should already be there on your bike. The end caps are used to prevent the ends of the wires from fraying.
