PLANET OF THE APES TRIO BLURAY 2021
I bought this particular version of the 3 later films back in 2021, and My wife and I watched them all again over 10 days. The BLURAY transfers are excellent. Great clear picture, good sound (important) and subtitles plus loads of extras for each film (they are nicely separated in a strong plaxtic case.) The CGI work and the reimagining of the apes is superb. Andy Serkis brings Caesar to life, as do all the actors who perform as apes and then are magicked into what we see on screen. I know this may sound odd, and should not influence you, but I found all 3 films to be sad and just a bit upsetting...which is daft because they aren't REAL APES AW!!! Anyway, the humans are mostly horrible. The action scenes are very effective. Locations and CGI terrific. Performences ditto. With all the originals on another box set I await the new Cinema film with interest.!!!

"A Thrilling Film – Now I’m Scared of Monkeys and Horses!"
First Impressions:I watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and it definitely left an impression. The movie is thrilling, full of action, and really immerses you in the world of the apes. However, after seeing it, I’ve developed an irrational fear of monkeys and horses. It’s crazy how this film made me feel more cautious around both species!Plot and Storyline:The plot is both heart-wrenching and action-packed, focusing on Caesar, the genetically enhanced ape, and the emotional journey he undergoes. The human vs. ape conflict is intense, and the movie does a great job at showing how things can spiral out of control when technology is pushed too far. The story is a perfect mix of sci-fi and drama, and you’ll find yourself thinking about it long after the credits roll.Visual Effects and Acting:The visual effects are incredible! The way they bring the apes to life is mind-blowing, and Andy Serkis’ performance as Caesar is exceptional. It’s hard not to feel sympathy for the apes as they evolve, and the motion capture technology makes the apes' emotions feel real.Emotional Impact:After watching this film, I found myself looking at monkeys and horses differently. It’s amazing how a movie can shift your perspective on animals—especially the apes. They’re depicted as so smart and capable that it’s hard not to feel a bit uneasy when seeing them in real life.Final Thoughts:Rise of the Planet of the Apes is a fantastic movie that combines sci-fi thrills with a deep emotional core. It’s one of those films that not only entertains but also makes you think. While I loved it, I can’t deny that it made me a little scared of monkeys and horses for a while. Highly recommended if you want a movie that will leave you thinking and feeling.Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5 stars) – A must-see for fans of action and drama – just beware of the monkeys and horses!

Trilogy of the Planet of the Apes (2011-2017)
One word: WOW! Oh My, words cannot describe how amazing these movies are! The Planet of the Apes Rebooted Trilogy stands as one of the greatest movie trilogies of all time. All 3 movies are perfect. I can't speak for the box set as its not released yet but as for the films:RISE of the Planet of the Apes - A brilliant, clever re-invention of the Apes franchise, the plot is amazing, the characters are all well done and it doesn't stray from focusing on Caesar, and the end is EPIC!DAWN of the Planet of the Apes - An even more impressive continuation after RISE. The plot revolving the human characters is basic, but you have great drama and conflict, when the finale hits its enthralling. There are some brilliant emotional moments also.WAR For the Planet of the Apes - A Fantastic conclusion to Caesar's story. In the words of Woody Harrelson's Colonel, "So emotional!" Haha. In all seriousness its a superb movie with so many emotional moments. its not as action packed as the title would suggest but don't let that throw you cause there is some action. Its a great character piece. I love the callbacks to the original film of 1968. Its dark, brutal and emotionally satisfying and it has a masterful music score. All 3 films are visually stunning and some of the most dramatic movies of the 21st century, other filmmakers should take note from Rupert Wyatt and Matt Reeves, these are masterpieces. Highly recommended not to be missed and these 3 films top the other 6 Apes movies, yes even the original 1968 movie. All 3 I would score a 10/10 not to be missed! If you haven't seen these films you are missing out!

a prequel?
already reviewed this, so this is more a debate or question?but many consider this as a prequel to the original movies, but if you follow the mythology of planet of the apes, the story goes that the pets started to die, and the apes became surrogate pets trained to do odd jobs, then one ape caesar said no and the ape rebellion began. so where does this film fit it? so really i think this film is more of a reboot rather than a prequal much like smallville did for superman a re-telling of the story, to which making its own rules.but then again the movie is brilliant so maybe shouldnt bother questioning its releveance to the series.so in alone this film is brilliantly directed (not a huge fan of cgi orientated movies) but this film has a plot, Andy Serkis is amazing as always, and well with a the last installment well not a installment really with Tim Burtons planet of the apes, which was horrid and pointless and easily forgotten, so is this the start of other sequals? hope so as long as they keep rupert wyatt as the director and andy serkis. this could mark a good few movies to come. well thank you for reading or ignoring this review or rant or whatever you would like to call it

Brilliant
Don’t have much to say but it’s a brilliant movie and now one of my favourites and was so reluctant to watch it but the whole saga is great! It will definitely tug on your emotional strings.
